The Party

It was the middle of the night, Josh was asleep in his bed.

That was until, he heard his bedroom door open.

He opened his eyes, turning to see what was going on, and seeing Drake walking from the doorway to his bed.

Josh looked up, still in his bed. "Drake? Are you alright?"

Drake just looked at Josh with a fearful look on his face.

Josh sat up on his bed. "Drake, what's wrong?"

Drake hesitated. "Um, can I.. uh.."

Josh began coaxing him into saying it. "What is it?"

"Um.." Drake began. "Can I sleep with you... tonight?"

Josh, in a sympathetic tone said. "Yeah, sure. C'mere."

Drake walked over to the empty side of Josh's bed and laid down.

"Goodnight, Drake."

Drake, before drifting off to sleep said. "Night."

It was the next day, Drake and Josh had to get ready soon to go to Craig and Eric's house cause it was Eric's birthday today.

Josh woke up, seeing Drake, still asleep, laying next to him in his bed.

Josh gently nudged at Drake's shoulder. "Hey Drake." He spoke softly. "Time to get up, we have to get ready. Today's Eric's birthday, remember."

Drake awoke and rubbed his eyes. "Alright, let's get ready."

About forty five minutes later, and the two of them were ready to leave the house and go to the party.

They got into Josh's car, Josh in the drivers seat and Drake in the passengers, and began the journey to Eric and Craig's house.

Josh decided to start up a conversation, first wanting to check in on Drake to see if he was feeling better from last night.

"Hey, Drake. You feeling okay? Or at least, better than last night."

Drake snapped out of a sort of trance like state he was in hearing Josh speak to him. "Hm?"

Josh simply repeated his question.

Drake just lied. "Yeah, I'm okay." He said in almost a mumble.

Josh wasn't fully convinced but figured he'd ask Drake again later, that or Drake would just confess eventually.

Josh simply said. "Well, alright."

That's when Drake realized he never bought a gift for Eric.

"Wait Josh." Drake began. "Can we stop at a store or something? I need to buy a gift for Eric."

Josh just kind of gave Drake a confused look before saying. "We've known of this party for over two weeks, you never found the time to buy a gift?"

"Well, I was kinda busy." He said, looking away.

Josh then asked. "With what?"

Drake just shrugged.

Josh sighed a little before saying. "Alright, I'm pretty sure the mall is like eight minutes from here, I'll just drive us there."

A couple of minutes later, Josh had parked the car in the parking lot of the mall.

"Alright, Drake. I'll wait here, just go get the gift, don't take too long though, since we don't want to be late." Josh stated.
