Marinette waves as Sabrina enters the bakery. "Hey! I'm so glad you could meet me."
"It sounded urgent, so I rushed over here!" The redhead explains as she walks up to the counter. "Also, I didn't know you were friends with Ladybug and Cat Noir!"
Good, she watched the live footage of the akuma fight. "Well, I couldn't exactly say anything, but we're not exactly friends. Ladybug just lends me the mouse miraculous when needed. Oh, she used to," She corrects.
"How was it?! Fighting with Ladybug and Cat Noir?" Sabrina asks. "Chloe talks about it all the time, when she was Queen Bee, and she makes it sounds like the greatest thing in the world! Is it?"
Marinette nods. "Yeah, it was fun... while it lasted." She fakes a frown, scratching her arm. "I'm such a klutz. I accidentally revealed my secret identity on live TV!"
The redhead chuckles. "Yeah, this morning I thought that you were Ladybug."
"Whaaaat? No... way! I-I am nothing like Ladybug!"
"Well..." Sabrina looks her classmate up and down. "You do have some similarities..." She steps forward and gets in the pig-tailed girl's face. "This isn't a trick, right? Because I don't like tricks! They're not fun."
"No, no tricks here," Marinette says fast, laughing. "Ladybug is Ladybug and I am—was—Multimouse. I mean, you saw it, right?"
Sabrina steps back and nods. "I did. You make a phenomenal superhero, Marinette."
"Thank you."
"Well, I have to head back to Chloe now," The redhead says as she walks off. "To do Chloe's—uh, I mean, my—homework."
"Bye, Sabrina."
Once the bakery door shut, the young girl takes off running up the stairs.
Marinette pushes her trapdoor open to her bedroom and finds Rena Rouge by her desk. She closes the door before asking, "Did the plan work?"
"You really are the embodiment of luck," Rena comments with a chuckle. "Trixx, let's rest." Alya takes the hero's place and she reaches into her fanny pack to feed her kwami grapes. "Marinette—"
"I know, I know," The pig-tailed girl mumbles as she throws herself down on her chaise. "I messed up."
Alya rests a hand on her best friend's shoulder. "You really have to find better spots to hide and transform. I can't keep using the fox miraculous to trick people."
"I didn't know anyone else was in the bathroom before I transformed!" Marinette shouts back. "I forgot to check the other stalls."
"Sly fox," Alya says as she pointed to herself, and then to Marinette, "Dumb bug."
The pig-tailed girl grabs a pencil and throws it at her. "Oh, shut up," She says, laughing hard.
"Hey, our plan worked, so it's no biggie." Alya squeezes her shoulder. "Just don't make it a habit, 'kay?"
She nods. "Hopefully Sabrina doesn't believe I'm Ladybug."
There's a thud on the roof.
"That's my cue to go," Alya states, grabbing her backpack from the floor.
The skylight opens and Cat Noir drops in, his transformation falling into Adrien as he lands on the bed. He climbs down the loft and meets the girls. "Did the plan work?"
Alya nods. "Like clockwork. Don't let your girl here get into any more trouble."
"Trust me, I won't." Adrien leans forward and kisses Marinette.
"Well, I have a date with Nino, so I'll see you guys later." The reporter waves and disappears through the trap door.
"I missed you," Marinette whispers into his shoulder as she hugs him tight. "I know we saw each other five minutes ago, but..."
Adrien laughs in her ear. "I knew you couldn't resist me."
It had only been a month since Marinette and Adrien learned each other's secret identities and double lives as Paris' superheroes, and yet they were more in love than ever.
Marinette's grand idea to go back and forth as Ladybug and Multimouse had—inevitably—backfired and even though she tries to keep her secret identity safe from Cat Noir, it didn't work. They love dating as civilians, and to protect their identities, they decided not to date as heroes, too, in case someone caught on.
It's hard to do, of course, when Cat Noir constantly flirts and Ladybug has to pretend she doesn't like it.
"I'm gonna miss Multimouse," Adrien says as he falls beside his girlfriend on the chaise, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "All those secret dates we went on... all those akumas we fought together..." He pretends to cry and hides his face in Marinette's jacket. "A tragic ending to our beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime romance."
Marinette rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah... we're all going to miss her."
"Hey, Multimouse holds a special place in my heart," The model fights back as he starts playing with the end of one of her pigtails. "Technically, she was my first girlfriend."
"Oh, and I wasn't?"
"Tomato, potato, Bugaboo." Adrien waves her comment away with a cheeky grin. "All that matters is that I got the girl."
"You sure did." Marinette cradles Adrien's face as she leans in and kisses him. "If my dad catches us, he's going to kill you."
The model holds her chin and traced his thumb along her jawline. "Wouldn't be the first time he caught us, though, would it, Milady?"
"My sweet muffin!" Tom calls out to his daughter, who didn't hear him as she keeps kissing her boyfriend. The trap door opens and he steps into the bedroom. "What would you like for dinner—" His eyes widen as he finds his daughter—his sweet, innocent, perfect daughter—making out with her boyfriend.
He knows where making out leads to: babies.
Marinette jumps up and stands in front of Adrien. Damnit, not again! First Dad catches me and Cat Noir.. now me and Adrien... he's never going to let me move out now... "Dad—"
"No more kissing!" Tom shouts, rushing into the room as he pushes his daughter and her boyfriend apart. "You know where kissing leads to!"
"Dad!" She shouts, embarrassed.
Adrien's eyes were wide and he stands there, terrified. "Sir..."
"I thought I told you I didn't want you alone in here with boys!" Tom reminds Marinette, turning to glare at her boyfriend. "And you! If I ever catch you in here again, I'll flatten you with my rolling pin!"
"I understand, Mr. Dupain!" Adrien climbs off the chaise and trips across fabric scraps, slamming hard into the floor. He jumps up. "Bye, Marinette! I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Wait, Adrien!" Marinette shouts, and sighs as the trap door closes behind him. She turns and glares at her Dad. "Seriously?!"
Tom nods. "Of course I am! First you and Cat Noir, now you and Adrien. Are you trying to kill me?"
At least I'm consistent.
"When we close up the bakery, your mother and I are going to have a long talk with you..." Tom pats his daughter's head and returned downstairs.
Marinette grabs a pillow and screams into it.
