Is that... my voice?

"You know, you really need to get a new style. I'm not a fashion designer or anything but..." Copycat!Marinette pauses, then grins. "Well, maybe at the moment I am."

With the rag still tied around her mouth, the baker's daughter can't do anything but sit there in silence. What the hell is he planning?

The imitation looks down at her clothes, all clean and pristine. "Hmm, this doesn't look believable... like I wasn't held captive for almost a week." She concentrates again and the clothes change, now dirty and slightly ripped. Her hair is tangled and messy, eyes wide and bloodshot red, paired with heavy dark eye bags. Her wrists are covered in tiny bruises. "Better?"

Marinette screams at him, her words muffled, and she struggles to free herself. Copycat's going to Adrien... he's going to hurt him!

Copycat!Marinette kneels down and cradles her face, tracing her thumb along the baker's daughter's bottom lip. "You want out of here, right?"

She doesn't say anything.

"Right?"

She slowly nods.

"I can make that happen if you just behave. By tomorrow morning, I promise you'll be a free girl." She kisses her forehead. "I'll be back. Be a good girl for me."

Marinette growls as she jumps forward, using her remaining strength to break free from the chains, and she screams and cries and sobs to herself. I have to get out of here. I have to protect Adrien.

Copycat!Marinette closes the latch and locks it, pushing the rug over to cover it. She leaves the studio, glancing around the dark street before she takes off running towards the police station.

Officer Roger stands at the counter, going through the missing person's file they made for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Midnight will make exactly one week since she was kidnapped. They still have Cat Noir as their number one suspect, but with no akumatizations in the past week, officers haven't been able to follow the hero after battle.

"Sir, Mrs. Dupain-Cheng is calling again," An officer says as he covers the speaker with his hand. "She wants an update."

"There aren't any!" Officer Roger shouts, annoyed. He pauses and takes in a deep breath. If this were Sabrina, I'd be acting the same way. He walks over and takes the phone. "Good evening, Mrs. Dupain-Cheng..."

"Hello, Officer Roger," Sabine greets, blowing her nose into a used tissue. "I know it's late, but I was wondering... if there were any updates?"

He sighs and says, "Uh, none yet, ma'am. We're doing everything we can to find her. If only Cat Noir—"

"I don't believe he's behind this, sir," Sabine cuts in. "Cat Noir has been nothing but sweet and kind to our family, especially Marinette! He loves her; he would never do anything to hurt her."

"Video doesn't lie, Mrs. Dupain-Cheng. I assume you saw the same footage I did?"

"It's not Cat Noir!"

Officer Roger's fist tightens around the phone. "Ma'am, I'll call you as soon as we find something—"

The lobby doors slam open. Marinette Dupain-Cheng runs in, crying with wide eyes, and when she spots the officer, she rushes to the counter. "You have to help me! Please!"

"Mrs. Dupain-Cheng, I need you and your husband to hurry down to the station. Marinette just ran in!"

"What?!"

"Get down here, now!" Officer Roger hangs up and runs around the counter, guiding the young girl down a hallway to a side room. "Marinette—"

"I-I think he's after me!" She screams, spinning around fast to look behind her. "I... I think he's going to kill me."
