Arjun's POV

Her warm heart, her pure intentions, the warmth that she carries on her sleeves, and her presence which is enough to make it palpable is what makes her so lovable. Her essence is too pure for the harsh realities of this world. Her soothing presence has touched my heart. I am definitely on the path to becoming a poet. My lips curved up thinking about her when she was so close to me. Her ethereal face is the only thing that is present in my mind these days.

"Are you okay?... Sitting alone and smiling to yourself??.. What is the matter? Buddy." My dad patted my back sitting beside me.

"He has been like this for the past few days, now," Mom told Dad making him frown.

I was a bit hesitant to ask but I took the chance by saying " Dad,...a..how did you?.... I....I...mean when did you realize that you have fallen in love with Mom?"

Both of them had a surprised look on their faces when Mom quickly grabbed the chair, sitting next to me suddenly getting extra curious about the conversation to continue.

They both stared at me for quite a minute and then Dad squinted his eyes "Are you in love with someone?"

Dammit.... My Dad is surely as cunning as a fox. His shrewd mind is beyond compare.

Mom's eyes light up like she just witnessed a mega-big sale of saree "Really...yay, finally your bachelor days are over. Tell me the name I'll talk to her parents about the marriage proposal?"

" wh...wh......why do you think ... like that?....Dad ...No.... I am still single. I just wanted to know" I tried hard to answer and escape Dad's doubtful gaze but failed miserably.

"Of course, I believe you Son" he completed his sentence with a smirk that clearly stated 'The hell I believe you, YOU LIAR'.

To escape the situation I said "Dad in return for my question I want your answer not another question from your side"

"Well, Son I was one of the cool, popular, and handsome guys of the college. Almost every girl was crazy for me" my dad declared proudly lifting his collars.

"That wasn't true. I was not among those girls." Mom commented and rolled her eyes at him making me chuckle.

"Yeah Sure, that's what you would like to say. But you were also crushing on me secretly. And now will you please let me complete" Dad said with a 'duh' face.

She smiled shyly.

"Okay, so Where was I? ...Yes. Your mom and I had an arranged marriage. We studied in the same school as well as the same college but love happened after marriage. In one line you can say 'She fell first and I fell harder'..." and he looked at Mom with so much love and adoration.

My mom softly took my hand in hers saying "Love is not supposed to happen at a perfect time or a perfect place, it just happens. Important is to realize it and confess it as soon as possible. I was in love with your dad from the first day we bumped into each other at the backstairs of our school but I was too nervous to confess and when I came to know that he got admission to my college, my happiness had no bounds. Suddenly, we were arranged to get married by our families as your dadi and nani were friends and it was their decision. He never failed to protect me and was always by my side and finally one day, he confessed his feelings."

Well, that is too much information to digest in one day.

Dad grabbed my mom's other hand lovingly saying "Your love and dedication made me crazy for you. The way you take care of me and my parents, especially my mom's critical health. The way you handle everything when even I freak out is what makes you unique in my eyes sweetheart. You were there with me when no one was there." And with this, he winked at Mom making her blush hard.
