The old neem tree stood sentinel outside her window, its rough and twisted branches casting delicate shadows on the walls. The night was still. The moon, a silver crescent, peeked through the gaps in the leaves, illuminating the room just enough for secrets to bloom.

With starlight in her eyes, Manya lay awake, her heart fluttering like a trapped bird. She had never wondered about love—the kind shown in the movies, which poets wrote about and songs sung of. Tonight, it seemed, the universe conspired to answer her silent prayers. Her heart was blooming with happiness remembering morning incidents. Arjun declared his feelings loudly in front of everyone.

Arjun, with tousled hair and eyes that held galaxies. He balanced precariously on the windowsill, his fingers gripping the frame. His gaze met hers, and Manya's pulse quickened.

"Is this madness?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Arjun grinned, mischief dancing in his eyes. "Perhaps, But love has always been a little mad, hasn't it?" he replied, his voice a velvet murmur. " And look who's talking. The girl who herself has invaded my privacy and my thoughts by entering my room and climbing through the window twice."

He swung one leg over the sill, his sneakers brushing against the curtains. Manya's heart raced as he lowered himself into her room, landing with a soft thud. The scent of cologne clung to him.

Arjun stepped closer, the moonlight tracing the contours of his face. He said, "I haven't proposed to you properly and I couldn't wait until morning to tell you."
