"And with that, I pronounce the defendant—- NOT GUILTY."With the judge's loud announcement, the crowd immediately erupted in joy. Confetti started falling down to the ground as a way to celebrate the NOT GUILTY verdict. Miles could only cross his arms in defeat. He had been defeated once again by that man.. Phoenix Wright. One of his childhood best friends.
Phoenix gave his assistants a high-five before turning to look at Miles, giving him a flash smile of his. Miles only huff one response as he looked away, of course he had won. In the end, Phoenix was always right. The way he would always believe in his clients till the very end... Miles couldn't help but admire him.
Miles was used to always care about his personal record back when was just starting at the age of 21. In the household of Von Karma, it was told to believe that a prosecutor should always be perfect. A prosecutor with no loses and no penalty's. That's how he was raised after his father had died.
Until he got reunited once again with Phoenix Wright in court, after suffering his first ever lost and ruining his perfect record— he really started to doubt everything. Had some of the clients he had gotten GUILTY were actually innocent?.. it made him feel bitter. And angry towards his best friend. He even told him straight to his face that he wishes to never see him again after that.
But when Phoenix had defended him in court and resolved the murder case from 15 years ago at the same time.. it made Miles change his views of everything. He only started to prosecute for learning the truth. Not because of the wins and the perfect record anymore.
It's been 10 years now since then, he's now the Chief Prosecutor, still fighting for learning the truth and the hopes of fixing the dark ages of the judicial system. Along side with Phoenix. It was great to see his best friend back in action after so long.
"Why the long face Uncle Edgeworth? Depressed because we beat you once again?" He heard someone call out. It was Phoenix's daughter— Trucy Wright. Miles huffed once more, packing up the evidence he used for the trial in his suitcase, "of course not. I was just reminiscing the past." He says.
Phoenix walks up behind Trucy, giving her a small pat in the back. "Great work out there. Thanks for prosecuting this case at the last moment.. who could've known that the prosecutor was a fake and was using forgery evidence against my client?."
Miles fixes his glasses, suddenly sighing loudly. "I agree.. The dark ages of the Judicial System will cease to exist, I can count on that. But that prosecutor wasn't even from here either." He says.
On the same day as now, Phoenix had called out a prosecutor who was a phony and using forgery against the defendant on this case. It seemed that the phony had some sort of deep grudge against the defendant for going such hard lengths to get him GUILTY. The prosecutor was immediately arrested upon the realization but now there wasn't anyone to continue on with the case, thankfully Miles was in his office at the time he had gotten that call from Phoenix.
"I'm going to have a word with that phony and get his badge revoked.. well.. get his background info and find out who he is." He mumbled to himself. Phoenix laughed at the comment, giving that stupid smirk of his. Miles glared at him, "Wright DONT—"—that reminds me that time how I got MY badge revo—"
Phoenix gets cut off by the front doors of the courthouse suddenly burst open. It was one of his assistants, she tapped her foot angrily. "Mr. Wright hurry up with Mr. Edgeworth!!!! I'm starving!!" She cried out. His other assistant also comes in, "shhh Athena! Can't you see he's trying to talk with him!?" He whispered yelled as he tried to pull the girl assistant, Athena, back out.
Miles chuckled, "Well, I think you should get going. I have a meeting to get to anyway in the Police District." He says. Phoenix nodded, "alright, say Hi to Ema for me." And with that, Phoenix waved goodbye and walked away with his daughter following behind.
