First Sight (JunHao)

♡Chapter 2♡

As Hao stepped into the world outside his house. The blinding sunlight hit his face. Using his hands to cover up his face, Hao took a deep breath and started walking towards the school's direction.

5 minutes had passed, and Hao was not even 30% there yet. So he knew he had to start running if he didn't want to be late. Looking at the time one more time, he took a huge breath and started spiriting to school.

Hao made it to the outside of the school just in time. The first bell rang, signaling 5 more minutes before class started. Hao stared at the enormous school. The school was four stories tall, and tons of huge windows covering each wall. The school was a dark blue color, with tan highlights. On top of the front door was the school sign. In big blue letters spelled 'WONDER HIGHSCHOOL'.

Hao just stood on the grass, staring at the sign.

I don't think I can do this. I'm so scared. Where are you, Soonyoung? Where are you, Chan? I need you guys, I can't do this.

A voice popped up.

YOU CAN DO IT HAO! YOU'RE THE BEST! YOU CAN DO IT!

The voice sounded a lot like Chan, Hao looked around to see if Chan was here. But all he saw were trees and students. Nothing else, no Chan, no Soonyoung. Just him and himself.

Come on, Hao! You can do it! You can do it! You're the best! We love you!.

That voice sounded like Soonyoung. Oh, how Hao wishes he could see their faces again. So he took one last look around him and walked towards the front door, and then took one last deep breath and into the inside of the school.

The school was crowded, everywhere you see was students. Some students were in their friend groups, some were beside their lockers on their phones, some students were doing makeup, and some were just chatting. As Hao walked through the crowded hallway, he could feel some eyes on him. Feeling nervous, he lowered his head and walked towards the front office.

When Hao got to the front office, he opened the door and went inside. Inside the office were at least a dozen office workers. Some were on the computers typing up stuff, some were talking on the phone, and the others were helping students. The office had a cozy feeling, the wall was a light tan color, and there were many lamps around the office. The office seems pretty busy for a school day in mid November. So Hao waited for an office worker to free up.

When an office worker was finally free, the final bell rang. Telling all the students that class has begun, and whoever is not in the classroom is late.

Not caring about the bell anymore, Hao walked up to the free office worker.

" Hey, Buddy! What can I help you with?" The office worker asked as Hao got closer to her.

" Hello, Ms. I am new here, so I don't know where to go, and I don't know what classes I have." Hao said to her when he finally got close to her.

" Ah! New student! Nice to meet you. What is your name?" The worker said, smiling excitedly.

" Xu Minghao."

" Xu...Minghao..." the worker repeated back as she typed up Hao's name into the computer. " Aha! Found yah! Your first period right now is math. The teacher is Mrs. Cha. Room 230, second floor."

" Okay, but um...can I have a schedule? And can you also get someone to show me around the school? Considering the school looks so huge. I am sure to get lost, no?" Hao asked.

" Ah! Right, here is your schedule." The worker replied as she quickly printed out the schedule. " As for the tour, Mrs. Cha will probably ask one of the students to show you around."

Oh. Did she say a student will show me around? Can't let that happen.

" Oh, actually, never mind. I can probably find the classrooms if I look carefully." Hao spoke out.

" You sure? I mean the school is very big. Not all the teachers will be happy if you run late to their classes." The worker asked, surprised.

" Yeah, I'll be fine." Hao replied. Hao doesn't want to meet new people right now. He just wants to get the day over with, without talking to anyone.

" Okay, whatever you say! Here, let me call Mrs. Cha to tell her that you are here." The worker said as she grabbed the phone and dial-up a number. Hao stood there with his hands in his pocket, wondering if this 'Mrs. Cha' was going to be a fun teacher or a boring one. Considering her name is literally Cha, Hao had high hopes for this math teacher.

The phone rang 3 times before it got picked up. " Hello! Becky, it's me, Gahyeon. I just want to let you know that the new student is already here. His name is Xu Minghao, and he is in the office right now. So can I send him up?" Gahyeon said into the phone. " Okay! Sure. Okay, of course, of course, okay. Thank you so much! Bye Becky, have a good class." Gahyeon said bye and put the phone back into its place.

" Okay, Minghao, you can go upstairs now. Mrs. Cha has been expecting you for a while now." Gahyeon giggled, and she continued, " Okay, now have a good first day of school, and welcome to WONDER HIGHSCHOOL!"

Hao nodded his thanks, took his schedule, and left the office. Looking at his schedule, he noticed that he had physics next period. Hao groaned as he saw physics. Hao hated physics and still doesn't understand it after 3 years. He took the schedule and folded it up, and put it in his backpack. When he suddenly realized that he didn't have a locker yet. The office worker forgot to assign him one. Oh well, he hoped that Mrs. Cha would help him get one. Putting on his backpack, he went towards the stairs and went up to the second floor.

230, 230, room 230.

Hao finally found room 230. The room was the third classroom down the hall. Taking a breath, Hao knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer it. When he finally heard footsteps, Hao thought.

This is it. My new school. Without Soonyoung and Chan.

The door opened, and Hao faced a short little lady, who looked like she was in her mid fifties.

" Ah, welcome! You must be Xu Minghao! Come one in. We've been expecting you!" The lady said. " I am Mrs. Cha, by the way."

Hao nodded back as a reply. The lady looked sweet and fun. She was wearing a black skirt with a black suit. It is very formal for a teacher these days. Hao thought. Mrs. Cha's hair was also tied up into a bun with bangs hanging from the side of her head.

" Well, come on in!" Mrs. Cha said as she waved for Hao to join her into her class. Hao nodded and stepped into the class.
