The Dangerous Fall

Chapter 3 - Oops

Kialiya enters her room and puts her stuff down and Linali stays at her doorway. Kialiya turns and sees her standing there still. "Come in sweetie." She says as she beckons her in. Linali enters and slowly walks to Kialiyas bed and sits.

"Did you need something?" Kialiya asks as she sits next to her. "So, how old did you say you were in the throne room?" Linali asks, 'She's probably trying to get to know you better' I think to myself so I answer her. "I technically just turned 18 a few days ago. May 3rd. What about you?" I nudge her a little when I ask her.

"I'm 12. I will actually be 13 on the 15th! My big brother, he turned 18 on April 19th!" Linali jumps in happiness. I smile at Linali and put my things away then sit back down on my bed. "So, what do you want to do?" I ask as I look at her while she is fidgeting with her dress. "Well, I'm supposed to be practicing my princess duties, like all the time." She looks at me with a bored expression.

"Well, how about we do something fun? Like horse riding?" I say smiling and waiting to see what she wants to do. "I don't fully know how to ride horses, only if I'm sitting behind someone, holding onto them, I have been told I don't need to." She says with a huff. "They just don't want you to be able to escape or have too much freedom. I can teach you how to ride horses, it isn't that hard." I whispered the first part to her.

"Can we? Please, I would love to ride horses!" Linali says with wide happy filled eyes. "Of course! Come on!" I stand and hold my hand out to her. Linali quickly gets up and grabs my hand and we start walking to the stables.

As we turn a corner I walk straight into Alintos chest. Linali starts laughing at the fact that in a swift moment I had her brother on his knees while I'm at his back with my arm around his neck, holding him in a choke hold.

"Hey, hey, let go,I didn't mean to startle you, I won't harm you or Linali." Alinto says in a calm tone with his hand resting gently on my arm, trying to get me to let go. "I am so sorry! I didn't realize it was you!" I say quickly as I let go, realizing.

"Hey, it's alright, honestly I'm not harmed at all, I do feel better Knowing you can put someone a foot taller than you down quickly, it lets me know my sister is safe." He says as Linali gives him a hug, while still trying to hide her giggles.

He looks down at her and starts tickling her a little. "Are you laughing at me? You laughing bc I was put on the ground? Really?" I smile at the heart warming interaction between the siblings.

"Hey, bub, we are going to the stables, she is going to help me learn to ride horses, do you want to come with us?" Linali says as she looks up at her tall brother. "Sure sis, sounds fun." Alinto puts his arm over this sisters shoulder and walks towards the stables and I follow behind.

I zone out as I watch our surroundings so I almost don't notice Alinto walk next to me and when he went to put his hand on my shoulder I grab his hand without even looking at him and twist his arm behind him. "Oh! I'm sorry! I'm not trying to harm you! You just keep startling me!* I say as I quickly let go of his arm.

"It's ok, let's go, we are almost to the stables." Alinto turns and leads us the rest of the way.
