AUTHOR'S POV

The living room is really nice, with fancy furniture and pretty decorations. It was Sunday. Yn is sitting on the comfy sofa, looking a bit nervous. Her dad, Mr. Kim, walks back and forth, looking serious.

"Yn, I want to discuss something important." Mr. Kim stated.

Yn eyes him warily, bracing herself for another confrontation.

Yn sighs. "Okay, Dad. What is it this time?"

Mr. Kim takes a seat opposite Yn, his posture tense but composed.

Mr. Kim began. "You know Ms. Jeon and I are getting married soon. We've decided to move to a new house together." He divulged.

"I know." Yn uttered.

Mr. Kim studies Yn's face, searching for any hint of emotion.

"It's important for us to start fresh as a family, Yn. This new house will be a place where we can all move forward together."

"I'm not sure I'm ready for that, Dad." Yn voiced folding her arms.

Mr. Kim's heart sinks at the sadness in Yn's voice.

"You know, Yn, seeing the new house might help ease some of your concerns. Why don't you come with me and take a look?" Mr. Kim tried to encourage her normally. Even though he too knows how distant he had became from his family.

Yn hesitates for a moment, contemplating her father's offer. Despite her reservations, a small part of her is curious about the new place, wondering what it might hold for their future.

"I understand, Yn. Change can be difficult, especially after everything we've been through."

"It's not just that, Dad. I miss Mom. And moving feels like leaving her behind." Yn said a bit trembling 'cause her heart was flooding with emotion.

She was liking and appreciating the change her father was doing yet her mind didn't want her to drown in emotions. And it was the conflict between mind and heart.

Mr. Kim reaches out to Yn, his hand hovering in the air before he pulls back.

"I miss her too, Yn. But we can't let our grief hold us back from living our lives." He's tone was a bit cold yet the words were true.

"I... I appreciate the gesture, Dad. It's just... a lot, you know?" Yn confessed and continued-

"Yet I can't forget the past." She said very coldly showing that her mind is still fighting the conflict.

Mr. Kim nods understandingly, his gaze conveying empathy mixed with a hint of encouragement

Yn exhales softly, torn between her desire to support her father and her instinct to protect herself from vulnerability.
