"nellaaa!! get the hell up now before I come over and drag you out of your bed!"

I let out a tired sigh before screaming back, "Gosh chill mom i'm coming, i'm coming!" This had been my typical routine every morning without fail. I was never a morning person but yet I never hated waking up for school either.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when something wet and sticky was swipped straight across my face. I scrunched up my nose in disgust before realising it was just my dog, Kenji.

I took a glance at the clock before throwing my hair into a messy bun and quickly threw on a simple black dress that ended just above my knees. I had fifteen more minutes to eat my breakfast before my best friends, Cara and Skylar, came to pick me up.

The three of us had been inseparable since birth, thanks to our parents who were close friends. We had instantly clicked the moment we started crawling and before you knew it, we had became best friends. We all had the same passion for dance and were in the school's varsity dance team.

The smell of mouth watering blueberry pancakes filled my lungs as I walked down the stairs with my backpack slung over one shoulder. "Morning nella, you better be quick. Cara and Sky will be here soon, don't wanna keep them waiting." My mom said to me as she placed my plate of pancakes on the kitchen island.

I glanced at her and gave her a lazy nod before I slid into my usual seat and devoured the pancakes in less than five minutes. I slipped on my signature rugged black vans and shouted for my mom, "bye mom I'm leaving. See ya' tonight!" I gave her a quick kiss and slid out of the house before she could even reply.

The familiar sound of Cara's voice filled the driveway as she pulled up to my doorstep. "Hop in, we're running late." Cara said before I entered her car. Cara was the usual teachers' pet with a rusty bad side while Skylar was the epitome of brutal sarcasm and honesty.

We arrived in school and found a parking space just before the warning bell rang.

"Damn, that holy beast.. look!!" Skylar nudged me with excitement. I sighed lightly, following her gaze. She was looking towards the direction of the school's entrance, her eyes alight with admiration.

I squinted. I couldn't see what the heck could be so fascinating. Then my eyes landed on a specific red car. I knew exactly who it belonged to. "Seriously sky?" I groaned "That's what you're all hyped up about? That's just sad."

Skylar didn't even respond. She had blocked me out, her world consumed by the one and only: Asher Williams. I pursed my lips and groaned, I just didn't get why everyone was so damn obsessed with the guy.

I mentally sighed before pulling Skylar out of her dreamy daze, she was practically drooling over him. Which can I add was extremely ridiculous.

Asher Williams was just like any other guy excluding effortless styled hair, visually captuvating eyes and perfectly built body. Yes, I'd admit anyday that he had the looks to die for, but sadly that's not the only side of Asher.

Asher was like one of those stereotypical jocks in the school's football team. Drowning in his fame, soaking in the people surrounding him all the time, and putting on a smile for the ladies.

He pretends to be nice and caring, but I bet that behind that bitter-sweet mask lies a self conceited jerk ; like every other guy in this school. That's why I absoulutely hated him. He was a fake. A player and a down right male whore. Toying with every girls' hearts like they were his minions then painlessly shattering them when he was finally satisfied. Every girls' but mine.

The saddest part was, Asher never really noticed half the girls that was practically stripping him down with their eyes. He walked through the carpark with ease, simply smirking at all the girls gawking at him. He entered the school with his teammates by his side.

"Come on guys, quit staring we need to get to class now." My deep thoughts were interupted by Cara who had already started walking ahead of us. We all had the same schedule since we entered this school, which I'm not complaining, was a huge plus for us. Our first class was AP biology and I was dreading it. Especially when the number one enemy on your list was your newly assigned lab partner.

"Admit it nels, you're into Asher too. I caught you staring at him." Skylar repeated for probably the hundredth time since I'd broken up with my ex-boyfriend, Axel.

"Don't you think they make the perfect couple hm? Ya' know both being the captains of the school's pride and honourable football and dance team?" Cara added. "Erm, totally!" Sky and Cara chorused together, high fiving and chuckling about their wildly weird fantasies.

"Okay," I groaned, "that's enough guys. We've gone through this way too many times and i'm probably repeating this for the millionth time. No way in hell am I ever gonna befriend or even worse take a liking into Asher alright?" I whined and glared at them. "Oh yep yeah clichè. That's what the girl always says before she falls hopelessly in love with the guy. Just wait and see nels.. wait and see." Skylar mumbled.

We arrived at the biology lab just before Mr. Arnolds came in. I quickly took my seat next to Asher with my back facing him. "Hey umm.." I heard Asher's voice from behind me as I took out my notebooks.

"Are you kidding me? We've been in the same school since kindergarten and you've already forgotten my name?" I grumbled without turning around. "Well duh, how'd you expect me to know who you are with your back towards me?" He countered.

'Oh right.' I mentally facepalmed myself and spun around to face him. He looked at me with a blank look on his face. I thought so."You honestly can't remember my name, right?" I scoffed turning my attention back to Mr. Arnolds.

I knew her all too well. I'd reconise that voice anywhere. Heck I'd even reconise her shadow. Rainella Greene, head of the school's varsity dance team and not to mention one of the hottest girls in school. The only problem that kept me from getting to her was her unbreakable pride. She had easily rejected me all the countless times I tried to make a move on her.

But I couldn't let that ruin my reputation, I quickly plastered a blank look on my face as she turned around to face me. "You honestly can't remember my name, right?" She scoffed before turning back around.

I was in a lost for words, I had expected her to introduce herself. I mentally smacked myself. What was I thinking, I should have known. I had yet again lost my chance of earning a conversation with her.

The rest of the day went by in a breeze, before I knew it, the dismissal bell sounded. Cara and Skylar had to attended an a homecoming council meeting which they signed up for. We said our goodbyes before I begin my long walk home.

Within minutes, the clear blue sky was replaced with a cluster of loomy dark clouds and loud thunder. I quickened my pace even though I knew there was no way I would make it home before it started raining. True enough, tiny droplets of water soon turned into a thunderstorm.

I was freezing as I trudged against the rain, wishing I had stayed in school till Cara and Sky had finished their meeting.
