“Hello. Can I talk to Mr Matthews please?” “Yes, speaking. How can I help you?,” “Good afternoon Mr. Matthews. I’m calling from the Saint Mary’s Hospital. According to our system you are next in line for a transplant. We’ve found a donor for you. Would you like to go ahead with the pre-operation procedures as soon as possible?” “Excuse me. What do you mean?” “It’s about your eye transplant operation Mr. Matthews. If I stand corrected, you have been registered to receive transplants for both eyes. Your name was next on the waiting list and so I am calling to confirm whether or not you are still in need of an operation.” Ethan Matthews, after living a life of dark solitude for 25 years finally gets the call he thought he would never get. After all, applying for a transplant, that too for sight, the chances of finding a donor was limited. With a huge waiting list and a small number of willing donors, Ethan had given up hope of ever getting the call. But somehow Ethan has made it through. The operation succeeds. He can now see the kaleidoscope colours of life through this generous gift someone else has entrusted him with. But reality soon catches up.
