Under the light of the moon, both dragons fly placidly. Side by side, they were looking down to the land. Everything was different. The hills, the rivers, even the beaches. Spyro wanted to find Warfang with all his heart. But how could they do it if they didn't recognize anything they were seeing?
"Nothing here makes sense." Said Spyro, visually frustrated.
"I know. I even start to miss Sparx."
Spyro didn't respond. He was very focused on the ground bellow them. Cynder started to notice that Spyro was looking concerned. She wanted to reassure him, tell him that nothing bad happened to the others. But she couldn't know that.
They flew for many hours, until they decided to land on a ledge. Spyro couldn't stop worrying about his friends. Every scale of his body itched with fear and didn't know how to handle it. So many things left untold, many adventures with Sparx. This can't be the end.
"Spyro" Said Cynder softly, while covering Spyro's back with her wing. "There's something else bothering you, isn't it?"
Spyro looked at her caring face, unable to lie to her. He didn't want to worry her, but it was obvious that he wasn't doing a good job hiding his fears.
"I miss him, Cynder..." Spyro said, very sad. "I miss Ignitus very much." He was like a father to Spyro. Thanks to him, Spyro could understand who he was, and guided him through his whole journey. Nothing would ever be the same without the wise red dragon, and it was obvious that Spyro was mourning him a lot.
"I miss him a lot too." She spoke. "Ignitus and you believed in me when not even I did. He showed me that I could have a home... a family." She was looking into Spyro's eyes with affection, and he was getting lost in her beautiful eyes. They stayed like that, in silence, watching each other's faces with a silent love that couldn't be described.
"Cynder, I..." Spyro started but couldn't finish when they heard a big crack at the base of the ledge. A huge ravine was appearing out of nowhere. Both dragons watch amazed at this, as if they couldn't believe what was happening.
"Let's see where it ends." She said eagerly while flying off the ledge. Spyro looked at her, with disappointment, but jumped after her.
For a long distance, both saw that the ravine was enormous. Not so deep, but definitely was impressive.
"Look!" Shouted Cynder with enthusiasm, pointing at a horde of sheep, eating grass on a vast meadow. "We haven't seen many floating islands again since we started to come this way."
She was right. The land was looking pretty unharmed down there, except the big ravine.
"I think that the world is still reassembling, otherwise I don't know what's happening." He said while looking at the land.
"You don't get it? Look at the sheep!"
"The sheep?" Spyro focused on the animals, and after a few seconds, he could understand what Cynder was saying. They had collars, and not simple ones. They had Warfang's symbol. Spyro was excited and didn't wait any longer to fly down to where the sheep were grazing. Cynder followed him closely and, when they landed, the sheep looked at them with curiosity for a second, but then continued eating.
"Do you see a shepherd?" Asked Spyro.
"No, nothing. Only these fluffballs." Said while trying to take a sheep away from her tail.
"Why would the sheep be alone all the way here?"
"I don't know, but maybe we can eat one of them."
Some of the sheep looked at Cynder with fear, and Spyro laughed a little because of this.
