Buck's POV:

I was entirely obsessed with lollipops, it wasn't a secret and everyone knew it. It was to the point where I was having at least one every day, if not more.

The team tried to take them from me once, and only once. After a certain point, the only gift I ever really got from anyone was literally just lollipops, and I was cool with that.

Usually on the days where I have more than one, it's because I use it as a coping mechanism. So either something happened to make me upset or I was just generally upset, and today was one of those days.

I had one in my mouth and walked in as I was putting my hair up and accidentally bumped into someone and dropped my lollipop. I looked up to apologize as I took my hair tie out since I let go of it when I hit the person, so I'd have to redo it.

"I'm sorry, are you okay?" I said, looking up to see Athena. "It's alright, I'm fine, I'm sorry too," she said, and I nodded as I spoke. "It's fine, what are you doing here, you're not here much." I asked, beginning to put my hair up again.

"Just wanted to drop by and say hello to you all, I also dropped off some snacks for you all, and I made sure to bring some more lollipops for you, they're all upstairs." She said, smiling as she spoke before checking the time and giving me a hug.

"Well, I've got to go now, but you take care," she said, and I waved as I thanked her before picking up the stick on the ground, throwing it away and walking up the steps to grab another one before walking back down to get changed.

After I got dressed, I walked back up the steps as I was putting my ponytail in a braid. I sat down between Hen and Ravi as I finished my braid, putting another hair tie at the bottom to keep it together.

When I sat down, everyone greeted me before Ravi laid down with his head in my lap and I began combing my fingers through his hair, something we did often when we were both stressed as it gave him comfort and me something to do with my hands.

We talked about random stuff until the bell rang, and we all got up and got moving on our way. When we were on the road, Eddie spoke up and asked, "so what is it with you and lollipops? Like we all know you're obsessed with them but no one's ever really asked why, so what is it?"

I held the stick as I responded. "Well, if I answer, I don't want pity or anything, the past is the past and I've moved on, agreed?" I asked, looking between everyone as they all agreed.

"Alright, well, when I was a kid, Maddie used to give me lollipops whenever our parents were arguing or something was going on, just to give me something to distract myself. So since either arguments or events happened daily, sometimes multiple times a day, I'd get at least one daily, and I never really grew out of it, especially when I left from my parents'. Without Maddie it got really hard, so I'd just have lollipops to remind myself that she was fine, and yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it." I said, putting it back in my mouth as I leaned back in my seat.

"So it's just a thing for you now, you just eat them daily, that's interesting. Well what about the days where you have more than one, what's that about?" Chimney asked, and I turned my attention to him as I took the lollipop out of my mouth again and responded.
