During my date at Isaac's italiano, I promised Gal I will show a friend of mine - who happens to be an angel - to her.
Later on, after the date, I walked to the park with her. I asked her: "Remember that promise I made, about me going to show you this friend of mine?"
"Of course I remember!" exclaimed Gal.
"Great, because there he is!" I said.
Gal asked me: "Are you sure?"
I looked onto the direction the location of Jozerijah was supposed to be in, and no one was there!
Unlike previous times, I was not stunned, but I was still confused. Although, I doubt I was confused as Gal.We looked for him ceaselessly, but to no avail. That was so, until the unthinkable happened, when we thought of stopping looking for him.
I forgot to mention, we were asking people about him, and they looked at us as if we were of unsound minds.
Back to the story, we asked yet another person if he saw Jozerijah.
This person did not seem as ordinary as the other people we asked, but he did seem somewhat benevolent.
He seemed depressed as well, on top of looking as if he were neglected."Excuse me, Sir, but do have you seen such a person around here, who seems like an angel?" I asked him.
"An angel? Are you referring to the Biblical kind?" he asked me.
Gal showed up, and asked me: "Why are you talking about an angel, when we are looking for people?"
I knew I forgot something. Unfortunately, that thing was paramount. It was time to reveal the secret - that friend of mine - Jozerijah - is actually - and literally - an angel in disguise! So, I told Gal about the secret, and she giggled. "Yeah, right. I do not want to offend you, my dear, but I do not think that friend of yours is an angel."
"About that," the man started saying: "I believe he is an angel. At least, he was. You are talking about Jozerijah, right?"
I nodded, and was curious to see how he knows him.
I noticed he said "he was", which confused me a bit.
"Excuse me for interrupting you, but what do you mean was? Is he not still an angel?" I interrupted him kindly.
"As far as I am concerned, the almighty Lord became somewhat upset when he heard about the mistake."
I looked at Gal the same way she looked at me, when he said such - more confused than before."What mistake?" asked Gal.
"You see, the almighty Lord has created this new way to inspire people to see him as the one, true Lord, as they should. They call it the 'life borrowing'. It started with this young lad, looking like you, called Elijah Deutscher. Like his name, he became Elijah the Tishbite, a prophet-"
Gal interrupted him this time, and said: "Excuse me for causing you to be interrupted again, but we know about the 'life borrowing' plan. This young lad, you see, is Elijah, the Elijah."
"Alright then, my mistake. I see you two know enough about this, unsurprisingly." the man said.
We were about to walk away, but not before Gal told him: "Thank you, Sir."
He responded with: "Please, call me Jozerijah."We immediately stopped walking, and returned to him.
"So, you are the Jozerijah, which Elijah was talking about?" Gal asked. At least, she tried to ask such. She stuttered, like how I did shortly after I truly met her. Although, this time, it was due to confusion, not love. It was very weird to see her stutter, but I cannot blame her. It was really confusing!
"Yes, it is I, Jozerijah. The angel responsible for life borrowing. At least, so I was." he said, trying not to burst into tears.
"Go get him some water," whispered Gal. "I'll stay here with your friend Jozerijah."
I did as she commanded me to do, and brought Jozerijah a bottle full of water.
"Thank you." said Jozerijah. "Back to what we were talking about, Lord the almighty has decided to fire me over a minor mistake I made.""W- What mistake?" asked Gal, in a confused, yet friendly manner.
"You see, the life which was supposed to borrowed to Ezeroam's running partner - Matthews, was supposed the one of Noah's, the son of Methuselah. Unfortunately, that life did not arrive into his body. Rather, the one which arrived into his body, is a different one, one of an absolute villain."
Jozerijah was on the verge of crying, so we tried to make him calm, by forcing him to change the subject. Unfortunately, he is one obstinate lad. He is a former angel, after all. So, he kept the subject about the mistake.
"The worst part is that I am the one responsible for such a mistake," sobbed Jozerijah. "You see, when I put the life into Matthews, I-"
He stopped himself from talking, looking as if all wisdom had fallen onto him.
"It was not I who did it. I remember it very well. I remember talking to the life of Noah's up there. I remember putting his life into a person. I remember that person was not other than Matthews L. Benjamin himself, the vice president of Ezeroam's rule. That means, I am being framed. But it is not just by anybody. Rather, it originates from an entity which knows how to cause life borrowing as well.""Who would do such a thing?" and "Why would that entity do such?" were part of the highly various and diverse collection of questions we asked him, until he told us the following: "I understand you want to know about this act, but I myself do not know much about it. It is not just you two wanting to know more."
"You have got to do something about it!" exclaimed Gal.
"I agree," I said: "we have got investigate further, and even protest your dismissal!"
"You are right, but what can we do?" asked Jozerijah. "Lord the almighty knows about everything we did, do, and will do. Therefore, we cannot plan anything that can cause him to be upset, or diminished." he added."I just noticed", I said: "If all of my contact with the almighty Lord is transmitted to me with your help, and you do not have your angel powers, then how will I communicate with the almighty lord? Is it even possible?"
"That is a very good question," said Jozerijah: "You see, Elijah, he did not mention anything about you, nor any of the ones who borrowed a life at all."
"There must be something we can do!" said Gal, wanting to help.
"Well then," Jozerijah started saying: "there is one way at least, but I do not think it is that possible nowadays."
"What is it?" Gal and I asked simultaneously.
"If there is another prophet - just one, on this planet - who has the will and the power to help you. Sorry to burst your bubble, Gal, but there is not much you can do, for you have not borrowed a life. You, Elijah, on the other hand, did borrow a life, and it happens to be the life of a prophet. Therefore, you can become a prophet yourself, and speak to our father in the sky himself, directly.""That is all I can tell you, unfortunately." said Jozerijah: "Now, go find a prophet - the prophet, a benevolent one, which will help you become one yourself."
Thus, we started looking for a prophet.
