Episode 20: Domino's return

Featured Cryptid: Kelpie

Our episode picks up where the episode "the owl society" left off, with our heroes getting a message from Nina that she tracked down the traitor Dominic. Helena asks her "where is he? tell me where he is and Bill will send Daniel and Natalie right away" Nina then says "he's in Ireland, amongst the Kelpie" Daniel then asks "what's a Kelpie?" before scrolling through the pages of the Cryptozoologicon finding out that the Kelpie (Sarcomoschus Borealis) is an amphibious ungulate mammal, a carnivorous cousin to the chevrotain, capable of shapeshifting which it uses to lure in prey which reminds Daniel of the lizardman. Bill then tells Daniel, Natalie, and Marcus that the three of them should get going now, and the trio board the X-van which blasts off for Ireland. we then cut to Daniel, Natalie, and Marcus all leaping out of the X-van's flight mode, James Johnson telling the three "have fun!" before blasting off to return to HQ. Daniel and Natalie both land in the Irish bog where they run into Nina, Daniel telling Nina "I know you and I had our differences, but since we have the same goal tracking down that traitor I'm willing to put that aside, especially since you're like a sister to Tony and I care about him" clasping hands with Nina. Natalie and Marcus hear footsteps and whip out their weapons (Natalie with her electric batons and Marcus with his katana and tanto blade) but the two are shocked to see a beautiful white horse step into the bog. Daniel gets excited exclaiming "aww cute horsie! I wanna pet it!" Nina exclaiming "Daniel no, that's not a horse!" Daniel is then stopped in his tracks when the "horse" starts shapeshifting revealing itself to be a Kelpie which bears its fangs at Daniel, Nina rushing in to whip the creature with her energy whip only to anger the surrounding Kelpies which rise out of the murky bog water to surround our heroes. only for another Kelpie to show up and exclaim "stand down my children! these folks are our guests for the evening" Daniel then says "the cryptozoologicon never mentioned Kelpies being able to talk" Nina then tells him "that's because they don't" the talking Kelpie then shapeshifts revealing itself to be Dominic, Natalie then exclaims "Dominic? what the heck is going on?" Dominic explains to our heroes that prior to joining Animal X he spent the past year living amongst the Kelpie learning their secrets, including how to shapeshift like them while he strokes the mane of one Kelpie while the others bow down to him. Marcus then charges headfirst blades at the ready, only for Dominic's fingers to transform into octopus tentacles to strangle Marcus and toss him into Natalie, Nina charging at Dominic who transforms his other arm into a loch ness monster head to attack her only for Daniel to protect her by firing his grappling hook at Dominic wrapping around his arm, however a pair of Jersey devil wings sprout from Dominic's back to pull Daniel into the air and drop him in front of Natalie and Marcus, Nina helping the trio back on their feet only for them to be surrounded by Dominic and the kelpies. Natalie then asks Dominic "you're definitely not human, what the heck are you?" Dominic then laughs evilly and says "a genetic mishmash of different cryptids, no thanks to your boyfriend Daniel Searle" Nina then asks Daniel "what is he talking about?" Daniel then has flashbacks to the season 2 finale "the Honey Island project, part 2" where Domino was transformed into a cryptid chimaera before getting crushed under rubble. Daniel then exclaims "no, it can't be! you're supposed to be dead!" Dominic then says "Indeed I was, but I lived. I used my shapeshifting to make myself appear 20 years younger to infiltrate Animal X under the alias Dominic, so that I could keep an eye on my adversaries until I deemed the time was right to announce my return" before shapeshifting revealing himself to be none other than Domino all along causing Daniel, Natalie, Marcus, and Nina to all gasp in horror. things go from bad to worse when Black Dot dropships arrive on the scene scaring all the Kelpies away as they deploy Black Dot grunts and Silencers along with Adewale, El Toro, Mayu, Ivan, and Lady Domina herself all happy to see that their rightful leader is alive and well. Domina hugs Domino, exclaiming "my love, how relieved I am to see you alive and well. I have been leading this organization in your name!" Domino then tells her "more like leading this organization into the ground in my name, the purpose of the black dot was to exploit cryptids for human benefits not senseless slaughter in the name of revenge. you, my love, have failed your mission. and you failed me" before shapeshifting into his monster form to pick up Domina with his tentacle fingers, Daniel, Natalie, Marcus, and Nina all watching in horror as Domino bites Domina in the neck with his Chupacabra fangs injecting her with venom killing her before dropping her lifeless body onto the ground to be fed to the Kelpies while the four Black Dot International leaders look away in disgust as the Kelpies pick her carcass clean. Nina then exclaims "how could you do something like that? she loved you!" Domino then said "false, I loved Maria Schmitt. she was just a clone I made to fill the void, same as you" before ordering the Black Dot grunts and Silencers to execute them. Nina contacts Bill and Helena, informing them that Dominic was Domino all along and that she needs the two of them to send backup. meanwile Daniel, Natalie, Marcus, and Nina are getting overpowered by cronies until the X-Van arrives on the scene crashing through waves of Black Dot grunts and Silencers with Bill, Helena, Tony, and the Johnson family arriving on the scene to help our heroes, Tony and Cindy asking Daniel and Natalie if they're okay. Natalie then says "we're fine but you kids need to stay back and let the adults handle this" while Rodney zips around the heads of Ivan, Adewale, El Toro, and Mayu who each try to hit the little Skyfish with their weapons only for them to miss and hit each other, Cindy exclaiming "way to go Rodney!" the little Skyfish nuzzling Cindy. Domino then rushes towards Helena, only for Marcus to charge up his Katana and Tanto blade with chi energy hitting Domino with an energy slash attack. Tony then closes his eyes and grabs his Atlantean crystal, hearing the voice of his father Blake Leeds who says "son... I am always with you" causing Jersey Devil wings to sprout out of Tony's back allowing him to grab his mom and fly her to safety, Helena exclaiming "Tony, what's going on?" Tony then tells her "I guess dad's demon blood must've been passed down to me!" while Nina cheers her on exclaiming "you got this little bro!" Domino then turns his attention towards Daniel and Natalie, Daniel standing in front of Natalie to protect her telling Domino "you get away from her" Domino tells him "I don't wanna kill her, she has something valuable to me... to be more specifically, the twin zygotes growing in her womb. your ESPer gene will most likely get passed down to your offspring, and that power will be a great asset for the Black Dot if I were to raise them..." Daniel then says "leave my kids out of this!" using his ESPer powers to summon the Kelpies to turn on Domino and attack him only for Bill to call out to Domino exclaiming "DON AMINO!" Domino then swats the Kelpies away before walking up to Bill, Domino saying "oh how I've always hated that goofy Australian accent of yours, even when we were kids. but that's the least of the reasons why I hate you, always sending your agents to do your dirty work to ruin my own aspirations. you love cryptids so much? well you can die with the rest of them!" as he picks up Bill with his Nessie-head arm, Natalie exclaiming "NO!!!" only for Adewale, Ivan, El Toro, and Mayu to block Daniel's way grabbing them and making them watch as Domino squeezes Bill with the jaws of his Nessie-head arm until Daniel and Natalie hear a CRUNCH! noise causing them both to tear up, Natalie having a whole montage of flashbacks to her childhood being raised by Bill and bonding with her surrogate father as she watches Bill's lifeless body hit the ground. Daniel loses control of his ESPer powers and makes the Kelpies attack the four Black Dot international leaders. Natalie rushes up to Bill, with Bill delivering his final words to Daniel, Natalie, Marcus, Nina, Helena, Tony, Cindy, and the Johnsons as they surround him: "do not cry my darlings, for death is not the end. my legacy will live on in each of you, and with you Animal X will continue its mission to protect cryptids around the world without me. there are stranger things and heaven and earth" before closing his eyes and passing away in Natalie's arms. Natalie cries as she lets out a sorrowful scream that echoes through the whole Irish bog, Domino telling his cronies to retreat telling them that he had his fun. once they escape in the dropship, the Kelpies all return to the water after Daniel tells the hooved predators that they're now safe. we then cut to Domino's airship where Domino reverts to his human form, now wearing a new outfit. Domino sits back on his old throne while Ivan, Adewale, El Toro, and Mayu all kneel before him. Domino announces his new name to his followers, saying that now is the age of Dominion ending our season finale on a cliffhanger.
