josephine sat in a chair in a dressing room with a team of people doing her hair and makeup. they decided that for the interview, they'd straighten her hair, which she really only did for touring because it was too much effort to do her curly routine while touring.

"josephine, i can't keep finding out that you're in a relationship through the internet!" her mother chastised through the phone.

"i know, mama, i know," she sighed. she had been meaning to tell her mom, but she didn't really know how to tell her mom she was dating harry styles, and then say it was fake. she decided that now that her mom knew, she'd just.. leave out the information that it's fake. "i was gonna tell you, it's just been hectic."

"i'm not mad at you, darling, but seriously, this is the second time!"

she laughed, "it's not intentional!"

"oh, please, that's what they all say," her mother teased.

"oh, is it?"

"yes. i have some very reliable sources, i'll have you know. and i wanna meet your boyfriend!"

"mama, you have met him."

"yeah, when he was some rando backstage at an award show. not when he was your boyfriend."

"alright, alright. fair point. i'll call you after the interview and you can interrogate him to your heart's content, how does that sound?"

"i suppose," she sighed dramatically.

josephine laughed, "alright, mama, i got to go. i love you, talk to you later."

"love you more, mon cœur."

she smiled as she hung up the phone. cara garcia had a nickname for all her children, but she always called josephine mon cœur.

"we need you in five!" someone shouted from the other side of the door.

"be right there!" she replied.
