Finally, I have her exactly where I want her to be. My perfect little ghost here in my territory. She is sitting just a few feet away, her beautiful eyes watching me as I try my best to push her. Push my sweet little obsession until she breaks.
I remain silent, waiting for her answer to my question. I cannot keep myself from staring, I kept my distance long enough but the way her white hair falls down her shoulders, the pale complexion contrasting with the blue of her uniform made me snap way earlier than I anticipated. I am well aware of my madness; I've never pretended to be sane. Yet, for her, I am willing to transform into whatever she desires. I would earnestly repent for all my sins and kneel at her feet, pleading for her mercy. She is the sole deity to whom I will ever offer my prayers.
"Fine, but keep your hands to yourself, Mr. Rossi." She snaps, her eyes burning through mine. It is as if she can see through my soul, I want to lay everything bare for her, but I know I cannot. Not yet at least.
Her words snap me out of my daze, my eyes moving to my hands to notice I indeed have them close to her leg. I did not notice them wandering but I need to compose myself before I reveal too much too early. I take a deep breath, trying to sort my thoughts before talking.
"So, you haven't answered my question, Officer. Tell me, who do you focus your eyes on when you go out? Who has your thoughts when you touch yourself at night?"
I hear Anima gasp, perfect I am pushing my little ghost, forcing her out of her comfort zone and catching her off guard. But I would lie if I said I was not curious to know exactly who is in those books she reads. I have seen them on her nightstand and in her shelf, psych thriller next to romance. My sweet obsession is as insane as me, she just doesn't know it yet.
"Mr. Rossi, that is...inappropriate. Stop!" Anima hisses, her voice sounding a little strained as she speaks. The woman is not as unaffected as she claims.
"Answer me, little ghost." I whisper, leaning just a bit closer to her. I cross my legs, placing my left ankle onto my right knee. The endearment slipped out of my mouth, but from the blush spreading across Anima's adorable face I cannot help but not regret it. Her pale skin is begging me to paint it red, cover it in blood while I rid the world of her enemies. Bit by bit, I will give my love the world. And whatever she decides to do with it I will accept, stand beside her as my queen rules the darkness and the light.
"Maybe they are 6'5 stalkers with masks and tattoos. Or maybe they are murderers with no feelings." She snaps at me, ripping me from my thoughts and forcing my entire attention onto herself. Anima said it so bluntly you could think I do not affect her, but her quick breathing and body language speaks for itself as I meet her gaze.
"Oh, are they? And what would one have to do to match those standards of yours, Anima?" I ask, my tone sounding sharper, more challenging, it honestly surprises me that she just admitted it like that, I thought it would take more. But that is what she does best, catch me off guard in the best ways.
"Kill someone, gift me their heart as I bathe in their blood." My breath hitches as she speaks those words. Anima's voice is barely above a whisper but still as clear and soft as always. A luring melody forcing me to please her, to gift her all the hearts she craves.
"Aspetta alla tua finestra domani, my sweet ghost." I whisper, and just then her radio goes off, calling her to change shifts. Silence is the only answer I get when Anima leaves. Just wait, my queen, just wait.
