"Hey, Minnie Mouse..." The geeky girl's older brother, Randy, leaned against the doorframe. Ever since he got shot months ago, he decided to wear tank tops around the house to show off his 'battle scar'.

"Hey, ass-eater."

"Can you not? It's rumors."

The girl raised her hand mockingly. It's been months since that night. She often found herself dreaming about the boys. Along with the doubt over her decision that night. Not about letting them go but not leaving with them. She refuse to admit she missed them this bad.

"What're you here for, Randy?"

"Seeing if you're ready to go."

"I'll be ready the moment you put on a shirt." She retorted. Randy opened his mouth only to be stopped by his twin. "A real shirt." She added.

The boy rolled his eyes. He turned making sure to leave the door ajar knowing it'll annoy her. He couldn't wait to get outta town to college. Minnie was, for the most part, excited as he was. Yet there was something about town that made her hesitant to leave.

Minnie sighed as she got up from her bed. She took one final look around her room. She stopped at the mirror that was once gifted to her by her younger sister. Her only sister that now no longer wishes to speak with her. Did she know why? No. She didn't exactly bother to ask either. The younger Meeks couldn't help but look at her face. That night when letting the boys go, she took it upon herself to leave scars.

Instead of clear skin, a huge white scar trialed across her eye down to the edge of her nose.

Ring ring

Her eyes shifted from her face to the phone sitting on her bed. She let the phone ring for another set before answering.

   "Hello?"

"Hello."

A smile stretched onto her scarred face. She knew that voice. How could she ever forget it.

Her boys had finally called.
