"Billy's been arrested." Those were the first word out of the younger Meeks mouth. The phone had been long forgotten as she processed everything."What? How?" Stu asked crossing his arms. He looked to were the phone had been tossed then to the girl. A hand went to the back of his ear scratching it waiting for her answer.
Minnie shrugged staring longingly at the wall. She ran a hand through her hair feeling extremely confused. It made no sense, the killer had just been with her no less than ten minutes ago.
"This is on some Michael Myers type shit." She commented, chuckling at the situation. "How the hell did he get over to Sidney's that quick?"
"You're looking into this too much."
"Can you give me a ride?" Minnie asked to which Stu nodded.
They dashed to the vehicle both seeming to be in thought. Minnie honestly felt like she was going to explode. Just when she thought she figured it out, there was a huge twist. Her other best friend was the killer. She would easily admit after Billy's mom left him, he became quieter, darker, she would go as far as to say creepy... But to be the killer? No, she did not believe that.
"It doesn't make sense."
Stu wet his bottom lip in thought. "I know. Billy's the killer. It's insane."
"Why would he target Casey or Sidney or even me?" Minnie slumped back into the seat with her mouth gaped trying to wrap around this messy ordeal. "What's his motive?"
"Princess, you need to drop it before you give yourself a migraine."
"Already have one." She said. The girl straightened leaning against the dashboard. "Guess I owe Randy ten bucks thanks to that killer jerk."
"You betted on who's the killer?" Stu's eyes twinkled with amusement at the thought. He would've loved to be involved on that bet.
"You say that as if you didn't know us?"
"Who did you bet?" Stu amused. Truth be told, he preferred to see Minnie confused rather than terrified to know about Billy.
"My original guess was..." Minnie paused trying to come up with a name that wasn't of the man driving. "Sander Mulligan."
Sander Mulligan is just a face in the crowd. Nothing special about him besides him staring at people as they walk into class.
Stu snickered with a huge grin. "Sandy as the killer?!"
"I know but he has a creepy feel to him, doesn't he?"
"Who is it now?" Stu queered, occasionally glancing at the girl them back to the road. Minnie looked puzzle so Stu continued. "You said that was your original guess, you had another before Billy spoiled the fun?"
Minnie played with the sleeves of Stu's sweater. "It was a stupid guess."
"Come on, princess, don't leave me hanging."
"Oh, look we're here." She quipped pointing at Sidney's house that was littered with cop cars. That was one question she wasn't ready to answer. She would never admit it to him.
She got another sense of deja vu from the sight of Sidney sitting on the ambulance with the blanket over her. Minnie stepped out the car to look back in through the window.
"You coming?"
"Nah, I got homework." Stu said, that was clearly a lie. Minnie might struggle to differentiate between a lie and the truth, but this, this she knew for a fact was false.
