The next morning, Grant woke up to find a girl sleeping on him. He was about to freak out until he remembered what happened the night before. The guys in the alley. Penelope. He looked down and stared at her. "She's so beautiful..." He thought as he was stroking her hair. He didn't realize he was stroking her hair until he saw his hand and quickly stopped. He slowly pealed Penelope off him and laid her in the bed. He glanced at her for a few seconds and then walked to the kitchen. He looked on the counter to find a note left by his dad.
"Dear son,
I'll be on a business trip for a few days, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone.
-Dad."
He sighed as his thoughts were rapidly running through his head. He sat down for a minute, rubbing his temples. He stood up after his mind calmed down a bit and started making breakfast. Although he did spend most of the time in his room, he absolutely loved cooking. It was a hobby of his that he couldn't really express due to his dad's approval of him. As he was making breakfast, he was startled by a light voice.
"Grant?"
He jumped and quickly turned around and there was Penelope in Grants T-shirt, (which was of course way too big for her.) her hair in a bun, and her eye makeup smeared a bit. Grant blushed as her looked at her, he thought she looked adorable in his shirt.
"Oh good morning Penelope." He smiled at her blushing still. "Why don't you sit down and eat breakfast?" He offered.
Penelope smiled and sat down and started eating. "Grant this is so good!" She smiled wide at him. He nodded, mumbling a thank you as he continued cooking. "Are you in culinary school, Grant?"
"No I'm not, although that sounds fun." He smiled at her. He received a strange look from her. "Why don't you go to a culinary school?" She asked confused. Grant sighed as he placed his food on a plate. "Well everyone expects the son of Marcus Jinx to have his priorities on the business. Not on making delicious food." He mumbles a bit sad. Penelope looks up at him. "Just because people want you to take over that business, doesn't mean you have to."
"Penelope, you don't understand. I don't have a choice in this. It's either I run the family business, or my dad won't pay for college..."
"What about your mom?"
Grant froze and glared at his food.
"Don't worry about it." Grant said with a stern tone.
"But-"
"Penelope. Stop." He looked at her with a hard stare.
She nodded and quietly continued eating. By this point, Grants jaw was clenched and he rubbed his face with both hands.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you Grant..." Penelope muttered softly.
"Don't worry about it..." He said and began eating.
After both of them were finished, Grant started doing the dishes. Penelope hugged him from behind, startling Grant and making him blush. As he was confused on what to do, he dried his hands and put them over her hands, his thumbs stroking her hands softly. The thing that confused Grant was that he automatically calmed down when she hugged him. They stood there for a minute until Penelope said "Can I take a shower?"
Grant nodded and led her to the bathroom and turned it on for her, giving her a towel also. As he was about to leave, she grabbed his hand and he looked at her.
"Thank you for everything Grant... I really appreciate it."
He smiled at her and nodded, blushing slightly and left.He couldn't stop smiling even after he left.
