"Not just any ability restrictor. One that blocks only specific abilities" Gethen told me, before I could argue. I thought over it for a second before nodding. I could live with an ability restrictor for a while, right? Yeah, I can. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. Just then I felt someone poking at the edges of my blocking. I realized it was Fitz. I let my guard down just a little for him to slip through to get transmissions through but not enough for him to read my thoughts and look at my memories. "Fitz is trying to enter my head. What should I do?" I asked.

Ruy started, "Tell him that you are blindfolded so you can't see anything and don't know where you are. Then you stop. After a few seconds tell him that someone is coming and then cut off the transmission" I nodded. I close my eyes and start transmitting.

(Fitz's Transmissions/Sophie's Transmissions)

Zaina? Zaina! Can you hear me? Zaina?!

Calm down, Fitz. I'm okay, for now. I am blindfolded so no, I don't know where I am. So don't bother trying to ask me. I also drank an elixir a little while back which blocks everyone from coming in unless I let them. That's why you were having trouble. Wait.... There's someone coming! I hear footsteps! I have to go! Don't contact me again! Bye!

Zaina wai-

I cut off the connection just as he was about to slip through my blocking and see my memories.

I said, "Okay, it's done. Now, until they find me, what am I going to be doing?"

Gethen just shook his head in disbelief. "You are going to get everything you need for being a double agent. Crystals to some of our bases and a few ability restrictors" Lady Gisela told me. I sighed, getting up and following everyone else out. Before stepping out, they handed me a cloak and told me to put it on. I nodded, taking it and putting it over my shoulders. We walked for about a few minutes before stopping in front of a door labeled STORAGE. We entered and I saw a great variety of cloaks, crystals, melders and many other things. Lady Gisela motioned for me to follow her to the back while the others grabbed the other items I would need. As we neared the end of the room, I saw Pixel. He was working on some new gadget that sort of looked like a bracelet.

Suddenly, I realized what it was for as I saw many different colored beads on it. They all represented a power. That's going to be mine, I realize with dread. I calmed myself just in time to hear Lady Gisela tell Pixel to give me the restrictor once it was complete. I relaxed, knowing that I won't have to wear it for a little while more but I thought too soon. Pixel then handed me the bracelet and told me to try it on. His voice was husky but familiar. I wondered where I had heard it before. My eyes widened in realization. My human father! I feel tears threatening to come up as I tell Pixel, "Hello William''. He looked shocked but removed his hood. And there stood my human father, with a smile. No, smirk. I feel anger and betrayal.

"Wh-what was that thing in Nightfall? All that torture that I saw?" I could feel my world become hazy but I stayed conscious enough to hear his answer.

"It wasn't a fake. We had made a mistake by letting our memories wiped the first time and that was the result. But it wasn't as bad as you saw it. We had expected you to come so we made it seem as bad as possible. The second time, we had taken an elixir to make it seem like the Washer had taken our memories but it was actually all hidden beneath an impenetrable barrier" He said calmly, trying to make me start breathing normally again. I shook my head, trying to fight the haziness. The next thing I saw was darkness.
