Rimeshire: 3rd Person P.O.V (During the scenes at Candelshade, Havenfield and Everglen)

Dex Dizznee and Marella Redek were hunched over a large desk filled with different gadgets and parts.

"I don't understand! Why isn't this working?!," Dex yelled, frustrated. He and Marella had been trying to think of ways to help Marella focus her power so it came out in short, clean and aimed bursts. Marella had been the one to ask Dex for his help on that. She had been trying to do it on her own, since she had joined the Black Swan so she could help Sophie and her new friends but all her efforts had produced not so great results.

Marella just looked at her friend telling him, " It's okay Dex. It's just your first time trying it. We can work on it in the morning. Come on, let's get a small snack and you go to bed while I go back home. Sounds good?"

Dex just sighed and nodded his head. He knew it wouldn't work the first time he tried it, but he wanted to impress his cru-friend! "Let's go...", he said, a bit frazzled.

Marella just giggled and grabbed his hand and led him out of the room, and to the kitchen of his house. She looked in the refrigerator and saw mallowmelt. Grabbing two plates and slices, she held one out to the boy, who had flushed cheeks. Both finished their mallowmelt, making small talk during it. As they were about to leave, a bright flash from the kitchen table made them turn around and look back. There, fluttering slowly down to the table was a letter. Both looked at each and warily approached the table. Marella picked up the letter and saw it was addressed to Dex Dizznee and Marella Redek only. Tearing open the letter, Marella took out the piece of paper and began to read aloud. She had just read/cried through the last line where it said to not tell the Collective, when loud sobs made her look at Dex. The poor boy couldn't control himself and was letting out loud, heartbreaking sobs. He sat down on the floor and curled in on himself. Marella sat down next to him and hugged the boy while both cried their hearts out. After what felt like hours, both leaned back and looked at each other. Breathing deeply, they got up.

"We have to respect her wishes. I don't know why she left or why she did this to us. All I know is that we have to keep the secret about her parents and do what she asked of us. Not tell the Collective about this. We have to," Marella said, trying to comfort her friend and herself. Dex agreed with her, and both decided to part ways since it was about to be morning. They hugged each other one more time and left for their respective homes and rooms.

Author Note: I am really sorry for the small sad chapters but it needs to happen for them to realize their faults. I really love Dex and Marella and it made me really sad to write them crying. Anyway, if you have any comments or any constructive criticism please comment. Thank you
