Past
"What is this? Some sort of gathering? Cult?" Balrus asks.
"It's a carnival you fool. These vagabonds do this everywhere they go. That's how they earn a living. They've been coming here for years" Ulrich shakes his head.
"But this isn't their land to do whatever they want. Isn't this your territory Bjorn" Caldor smirks mockingly at me.
"It is" I growl. My wolf pushes forward in a eerie growl. The smell of these humans already riling him up. Our kind doesn't enjoy mingling with something so inferior to us. Every little thing makes me angry these days, hot uncontrollable anger from the depths of my soul. I take a deep breath to control my wolf.
"Come on let's just see what this is all about. Isn't it why we're here? We can't start a fight, the Alpha won't be happy" Celestina intertwines her hand in mine interlocking our fingers together while giving a look to her brother. Celestina is trying so hard to make a good impression on my father, she wouldn't want anything or anybody sabotage her good girl reputation among pack members. But I still wouldn't be surprised if my father knows. He is not very fond of Celestina and her family. Once he used to share a very close knit bond with their father but it's all gone now. These days father is always unhappy and specifically unhappy with me and everything I do.
The humans parted their ways as they spotted us as if they can subconsciously sense we're not one of them. They don't deserve to walk so freely among us specially on my pack land. It won't be the problem when I become the Alpha.
"I don't know why you even wanna come Celestina. This is disgusting" Caldor scrunches his nose at the smell. Before Celestina could snap at him I grabbed her arms and pulled her towards the crowd. I can't have father sending them away from the pack.
"Enough! We came here to explore. Let's just do that." I snapped. I was starting to get really angry by the constant bickering. The tension within the pack, my father and my wild are all at war with each other and then there's her. I couldn't help but sneer. My wolf swirled around in my mind like a snowstorm. It's always cold and pitch black in his cave, that's how he likes it. He doesn't like even a single thought of her. She's unworthy in our eyes.
We explored the area a little bit before deciding to head back. There wasn't much to look at. They have all kinds of colorful and sparkly things. It was...nauseating. The constant screams of excited children has started to give me a headache. My mood already plummeting by seeing this many humans within my territory.
Father may be lenient when it comes to them but I won't be when my time comes. They need to respect the hierarchy just like grandfather wanted. Old ways must come back. And I will be the one to do that. These humans has influenced our culture so much as it is.
"Look !! a fortune teller" Balrus pointed at bright purple colored tent. This is the first time he has seen this many humans. His eyes full of sparkle and child like curiosity despite his age. Celestina rolled her eyes. "I smell a witch" her eyes narrowed at the bright colored tent. I sensed her presence from miles away. Witches have no business in these parts of my territory. They are not very fond of cold weather despite their cold appearances but I can guess why this one chose to hide among humans.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to look" she looked at the tent intentively .Witches are not our natural enemies but their presence in my territory is unwanted. They are sneaky, crafty and manipulative in nature. We have no patience for that but they are a force to be reckoned with when they work together with a pack. Their strategic and logical thinking comes quite in handy in a room full of testosterones. This is what led to huge witch hunt years ago. Everybody wanted to keep a piece for themselves but witches are no slaves. They resisted and fought valiantly but lost......unfortunately. As if they even stood a chance. Many of them went into hiding and many lost their lives but the ones who were captured were used horribly. I know there was more to this story than meets the eye but that's what I have been told by grandfather. I believe this one escaped and now hides among humans.
