After yet another round of the obstacle course, with little improvement in times but an increase in the mental stimulation of some, everyone briefly showered using the gym and moved over to the hall for the assembly. Rose and the gang had arranged it so that they would all speak, choosing not to do so as soon as they arrived. Standard practice was that they would have spoken to novices only and on the first day they arrived. Rose didn't want that though. Her own experiences have shown that the Moroi need to be spoken to about strigoi encounters as the novices about life as a guardian in general. And with all the changes Rose is planning, it was best done after they get a sense of how kick ass her and her people are. Better to be taken seriously that way. Change is never easy, but it is now imperative.
Patience is one thing Rose will never be known for. Currently she was trying to tame the nervous energy running through her, her friends being equally nervous about speaking was not helping her attempts at calm. Sensing her apprehension, Dimitri held her close and tight as he stroked the back of her neck to calm her. It worked quickly and effectively. She was soon relaxed and like jelly as she leaned against him, causing the rest of the group to chuckle.
"I'd like to welcome some visiting guardians and Moroi" Roman began, introducing the group. "Normally only guardians would speak, and only to the senior novice classes. But with the changes already being seen, as well as those still to come, they felt everyone could benefit from hearing some of what they've experienced. And I agree. So without any further ado, I give you a group from St Vladimir's. They'll introduce themselves, though I'm sure some will be recognised from what you've been learning." He finished with a slight wink to a slightly clueless Rose and Lissa. They didn't realise just how well their escape was being studied over in Russia, despite Vika having mentioned something over Christmas.
"Hi everyone" Rose spoke on behalf of her group. "I know the Moroi are probably not used to hearing from guardians at all, let alone one who is technically still in school." That got some grumbled comments from both novices and Moroi alike, wanting to know why someone their age would be speaking to them, let alone why she was taking the lead when there were more senior guardians standing with her. Her being seen as a leader around campus for the few days since they arrived was probably the only reason they were not openly hostile to anything she had to say. However all this was from the males more than anything. Females were too busy drooling over Dimitri and some of her father's guardians to really pay attention to much else. Spotting this, she gave a slight head movement to Dimitri to have him stand beside her.
