Ep 3 Pack mentality

Harper had no idea how she was supposed to focus on a word Lydia was saying let alone classes whilst balancing everything she had learnt over the weekend. It was an almost impossible task. All she could think about was the fact there was an alpha, who had already turned and killed people and he was just prowling somewhere in Beacon Hills.

She didn't even have the safety net of her siren abilities to protect her. She had vowed to not use them ever again. Since eventually, instead of protecting her, they would quite possibly kill her, or even worse she could lose control and break the Everheart curse. She preferred death rather than becoming a true siren, who killed for the rest of her days.

"And Jackson is giving me an earful like it's my fault that–Are you even listening?" Lydia questioned, stopping halfway through her rant to glance over at Harper through narrowed eyes. The truth is, she wasn't. Nevertheless, she nodded her head as convincingly as she could. Still gaining a skeptical look from the Martin girl.

However, the second the infamous duo Scott and Stiles came into her view she dropped her weary look and replaced it with one of disdain targeted towards the pair. "He's up to something, I know it. Seriously Harper, he was a bench warmer last year and now all of a sudden he is a star player and for some reason, Jackson is taking that out on me." Lydia explained and Harper just sighed whilst conjuring up a response.

"I think Jackson is just annoyed that for once he isn't the topic of conversation when it comes to lacrosse." She replied. From what she was able to gather, before Scott was bitten Jackson was undoubtedly the best on the team but now, Scott was giving him a run for his money.

In response, Lydia gave her a small shove, rolling her eyes before closing her locker and pulling out a compact mirror from her purse. However, after a few seconds, she quickly clamped it shut again and looked over at Harper, her eyes wide with realisation.

"I totally forgot to tell you!" Lydia exclaimed, leaning in and surveying the area as if what she was about to say was top secret. "Apparently, there was some type of animal attack on the school bus and classes might be cancelled."

"Seriously?" Harper questioned, earning a hum of confirmation from the Martin girl whose concerns seemed to lie with the fact of whether or not classes would be cancelled and not the attack. The exact opposite was the truth for Harper because she had a nagging suspicion it wasn't just an 'animal attack'.

"I'm going to have to love you and leave you." Lydia casually ran her fingers through her glossy hair, applying her lip gloss with a graceful swipe before flashing a radiant smile into the distance, "Jackson is here."

Harper scoured the crowds for him and when she saw him standing there with his stupid smirk she had suppressed her disgust. The more and more the strawberry blond girl told her about her boyfriend the more her disdain for Jackson grew.
