-- Y/N POV --
"Y/N! You won't believe it! I've been given permission to create life as the other angels have for God!"
Samuel had ran so quickly, slightly tripping over himself every now and then. He looked so very enthusiastic, his features turning into beautiful shapes that had contorted his expression into a happy-joyous one.
He had now came to a halt before me, hand on his chest as he caught his breath and stamina, quickly retrieving it as his body straightened. Looking up towards me with a hint of determination, I smiled,
"Well, er... Not exactly create life like they do. What I meant is... " he had placed a finger on his chin, seeming thoughtful, I hummed in understanding.
"You mean you would curate life of beasts, Sam? Animals?" he seemed a bit in awe before he instantly nodded my way, he smiled warmly.
"Samuel, as the guardian of the many creatures roaming Eden... Ofcourse I'd be first to know of this revelation. You know I protect and curate those beasts myself... regulate them..." he looked at me dumbfounded but his face quickly hinted to a flustered state, he nervously laughed.
"Oh... yeah... er... I forgot." he then perked up, his eyes glittering brightly as he moved around me, I watched him intently.
"Please, pretend to not know of this next thing I will be bringing to your knowledge... Starlight."
I felt my cheeks slightly flush, smiling softly as I had nodded. Watching Samuel cup his hands to manifest a golden dust, swirling and floating from his palms as he had shaped it with his nimble fingers and mind, he had seemed so focused. I saw it incredibly endearing, his little pink tongue peeking from the corner of his mouth.
It had felt so very mesmerizing to watch this angel, an angel bound to myself as I was to him, create from his own hands and mind. From his hands he had lifted the golden dust, curating a form that had the features of a familiar-new species I had became aware of.
I watched it's fat-winged body contort into shape with its soft-beady eyes accompanying it's orangey bill. My hand had lifted, my palm over my mouth as I softly giggled.
So he had been responsible for the Anas Platyrhynchos?
Samuel had occasionally caught my eyes as he shaped the creature, almost as if he had been seeking a form of validation. He had grinned proudly at my reaction, my eyes of pure adoration... He had swerved the lifeless object, not yet sentient nor aware.
He had made it open and close it's bill, mimicking the animals little sounds.
Quack.
Squack.
Quack.
I laughed softly as he had given the creature life, finally. He hummed gently as the little fuzzy thing nuzzled into his warm palms. He moved to gently move his hand away to pet it's head.
"My creation, the Anas Platyrhynchos... Though... Adam had named it, simply, a duck."
...
Warily my eyes had fluttered themselves awake, letting my vision come to see a dark-mahogany colored ceiling...
I had sighed, dragging a palm against the base of my face, feeling it's cold tendrils nip at my skin.
I've been given this room yesterday, after a few more words shared between Charlotte and her lovely arrangement of friends, I had retired to my quarter rather quick. Exhaustion from their presence and the startling view of her resemblance to him.
It should've been me. It should've been me. It should've been me.
I shook my head, stirring wildly as I had sat upwards, lifting myself from the soft-cushioned bed forcefully. I stared at the wall determined, sure to make this day a productive one as I planned to make any- and everyday of my staying here. I had snapped my fingers, my clothes had instantly been replaced with another pair of cleaner attire to clad myself.
I had soothed out my hair gently, stepping towards the closed door as I had swung it open with little grace. I had ascended down the stairs, being created with the array of friends, peering at me.
It seems they had been discussing the decrease in time for the next extermination, quickly I had felt my nerves pricking uneasily inside of myself... Stop staring like I am responsible of this treachery...
I awkwardly smiled as Charlie had offered me a reassuring smile, I had nodded my head politely as I had moved to sit beside the white spider-demon. He had been scrolling on a technological device.
Never understood those things ...
I hadn't listened much, feeling embarrassed and completely self-aware.
An A-Class Seraphim sitting beside ruthless sinners as they bask in their worries of upcoming genocide by her own array of people...
None of these problems could be masked as her own, she could not be caught in the same trouble they were, she had been profusely privileged.
".. Ofcourse, Angel Dust, I completely understand, but, uh- Ms. Eveningstar, what do you think?"
I had blinked in surprise of my mention, sheepishly glancing over to Charlotte, she had a beaming smile smeared graciously over her face. She held her hands together in an almost pleading manner.
My head has gently tilted to the side, my brows furrowing,
"Apologies, my child, what was your question ... ?"
"The exterminations! They've been cut short... Sinners are extremely vulnerable and desperate now, do you think their desperation could be an opportunity for new residents?"
"Well, my child--"
My speech was cut short quickly as an explosion had rudely erupted, blowing a wall beside us to absolute bits. My eyes had widened in surprise as we all turned to stare at the immense commotion ...
