Betty's POV:

The following day, I reached school early, like very early. So I sat down on a bench nearby school. I took out the novel, Pride and Prejudice, out of my backpack and started reading. A few minutes later, I heard a voice saying "Excuse me!?". I looked up to see a beautiful blonde boy. I couldn't help but stare at him for a few seconds, how was he real?! "
"Umm.. Hello!?!?" said the boy, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Everything okay??"

"Yeah, I just- um.. zoned out. What's up?"

"You go to this school?" asked the boy.
"Yeah I do. Just arrived a bit early so just waiting."
"Mind if I sit here?"
Oh my god. A guy willingly wanting to sit with me? But wait, how can I say yes to a random stranger I met like 2 minutes ago.
"Yes of course!" I let my intrusive thoughts win.
"I'm new, just joined this school. Name is Miles."
"Miles, huh? Well, nice to meet you. I'm Betty."
"So, Jane Austen huh? What about Sense and Sensibility?"
Oh my god. A guy so attractive, and he's into literature as well!? I mean, I'm not saying that they shouldn't be, it's just that never met someone like him.
"You into books?" I asked.
"Could dive into them if had the chance."
"A guy so attractive and is into literature? I'm impressed." What the actual hell did I just say. I don't even know how, it's like these words just came out with the flow
"You think I'm attractive" He raised one of his eyebrows.

I tried getting out of that hell of a situation by checking the time, hoping it was time for the school gates to open. Thankfully it was. "Would you look at the time?! We should probably head inside school." I said while checking my watch, keeping my novel inside my bag and rushing out of there as soon as possible.

On the way inside, I spotted Kayden. As I was about to approach him, I noticed he was walking and talking with another girl. The girl was Isabel, the captain of the cheerleading team. What was he doing with her? I thought he hated girls who seek attention. I walked up to him, but he just gave me a quick glance and walked away. Like, excuse me!? What happened to "Hey!" or even a "Hello!". He never ignored me like that. It felt really weird. I didn't think too much about it and just headed to my first class.
