Fourteen: Oh...

I stare at Kise, eyes wide. Did he really just ask me that? He specified who? What? Does he really want to...? Oh.

"Konekocchi, will you go out with me? Like to see a movie or something?"

Oh, he's asked before. I went to see a movie with Kise about three weeks ago, but dressed as Ryou. How was I to know that that was what he meant? I didn't have a clue!

Well I know, NOW it seems obvious!

Wait...how many other times has he asked me to do things like this?

"Konekocchi? Would you like to come to our family picnic?"

"Sure Kise!"

Again, I went as Ryou. He must have covered for me, his sisters seemed a bit uneasy that I was there. I just thought that they would have rather kept the family picnic a family affair.

"Konekocchi, you know, you're pretty enough to be the female model in my new campaign!"

"Stop gushing, stupid!"

"Konekocchi?" Kise asks, standing in my doorway. His mum will be picking him up soon. He's just making sure he's got an answer. He wants us to go out tomorrow. Tomorrow. Sunday. The date day. If it were anybody else, I would most probably shudder in disgust. Dating. I'm fifteen. Well, basically sixteen, Kise's been sixteen for a while now. He was always the oldest of the Generation of Miracles, even though Midorima and Aomine look far older than him.

Oh god, now I feel bad. He wants us to go out. Koneko Ryoko and Kise Ryouta. Together. To the Serin Torou game! I know that sounds like a pathetic date, but honestly...it's my kind of date. I mean, I spend almost every day with Kise Ryouta, we're really comfortable together. We rally do spend basically every day together, like EVERY day. We go to school together, there is no aspect of NEEDING to be together every day, we're always next to each other. If anything, Kise ids like my own little security blanket, like the lucky items are for Midorima, he keeps me comfortable because he's the only one to actually know my secret. I really enjoy being with Kise. but I guess, I've always found him pretty. I wouldn't know if he's my type. I don't really have one. Nate is my only boyfriend like person. And that was total carnage.

"You up for it?" I am asked. I stare up at Kise. Is this some kind of apology. He's had to cancel a few hangouts recently because he's a model. It doesn't bother me. He has to work, and I have to work on things too; making myself look more girly, my makeup practise is a great way to spoend time when Kise isn't on my sofa. Sometimes I wonder if Kise ever really spends time at home. It doesn't really see, like it a lot of the time.

I stare at my blond friend. "Sure, I would love to." I nod.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow!" Kise grins, waving to me before jogging over to the awaiting car.

I slump down on the sofa, completely dumbstruck. Since when has Kise been interested in me?

.

"No you're not, Konekochi. And until you are, I'm not letting you go!" He declares. I roll my eyes, doubting it.

Kise has moved us back to the sofa. He still hasn't let go of my frame.

He sits for about ten minutes, not letting me go, just to prove a point. I pout but I'm still crying. I thought that I would be able to face Nate! This puts a whole new spin on my summer plans to visit America. No way I could do that alone.

"Konekochi, why were you with someone like that?" Kise murmurs into my hair.

"It seemed right back then." I hiccup.

"Right? I never got the appeal of being with an asshole." The blond model complains.

"He was really sweet but slowly yet surely, he was catching the eyes of other girls. Girls that were in high school. Girls that could give him what he wanted." I explain, wiping my eyes.

"What a pig!" Kise scoffs.

.

Kise drapes his coat on my shoulders as we leave the changing rooms and takes it off of me as I head into the girls' toilets and tweak the dimensions of my make up and re-applying winged eyeliner. Nothing screams 'I AM A GIRL! I SWEAR!' more than winged eyeliner. Wait, doesn't Kise have...

.

I stare out at the court, dressed in my gameplay home uniform. This is daunting. Rakuzan will be here any minute. My binder is on. I can't believe Kise bought me one, just to use in games. I found the receipt in his trash. He blew a LOT of his savings to maintain my charade. He's too nice!" He deserves a much nicer friend than me.

I glance downward, I'm not going to deny that this is convincing. You can't tell that there's anything girly about my physique!

.

Oh.

Has he really been interested in me for that long?

My eyes widen in realisation. He has... hasn't he?
