Na Jaemin was a simple man living an ordinary life—which honestly sucked because he looked like he was created by God himself, handcrafted to perfection.

It was always a mystery to everyone he met that he didn't choose a career in modelling or as an idol, because with a face like that he could prosper in those fields. But nope, Na Jaemin would rather spend his days working at the "afterschool school"—a school where kids would go after school while they waited for their parents to collect them after a hard day of work.

He wasn't a creep, don't get it wrong. He just thought it was an easy way to make money after he acquired his four year bachelor degree which might as well be the toilet paper he wipes his ass with—in his eyes, it was a waste. And quite frankly, the pay for being a teacher at the after school care for about 4 hours of his day was far more rewarding then the pay he would be getting for an entry level job at some tech company. But if he was being honest, the one thing he was starting to hate because of this job was children.

Well, to be clear, he didn't hate children. He hated the idea of having children. He honestly didn't know how parents could do it, how they could afford to splurge all their money on a child that had the energy of a space shuttle, how they had the time and patience to deal with the wailing ear deafening screams and he certainly didn't understand how some people could dedicate their whole lives to raising a child—and a child was what he honestly still considered himself to be sometimes. It was hard work for sure, something he never saw himself doing. So it was incredibly baffling for him, on a regular Tuesday afternoon, to be referred to as "daddy".

"Well done! That looks incredible" Jaemin gushed as one of his students brought a drawing up to him. It was colourful, messy and a waste of trees, but Jaemin still found it in him to see the creativity seeping through it.

"Thanks Jaemin" the little boy smiled, grinning widely with his eyes turning into crescent moons.

"No problem buddy" Jaemin smiled sweetly. The little boy giggled as he continued to return back to his table of friends to show off the praise that Jaemin had given him.

He smiled brightly as he scanned the room, lively with laughs and chatter, bustling with young energy and enthusiasm. His eyes also didn't fail to graze over the ticking wall clock—only one more hour to go.

"Let's see yours Yurim!" Jaemin said with excitement as the somewhat outspoken girl who always never failed to put a smile on his face approached him. He squatted down to her height as she showed him her coloured in picture, always perfectly within the lines.

"Wow! It's so pretty, just like the artist" Jaemin said sweetly, patting her head lightly as he saw her shy smile forming at his praise. It was obvious to him that most of the children were always either crushing on him or trying to be as cool as him. He honestly found it cute and endearing—and he did get an ego boost from it.

"Thanks daddy" the girl responded as she quickly turned away from him and skipped back to her desk

"Youre wel—" Jaemin cut himself off as his smile faltered. Daddy.

He blinked twice as he slowly stood up to his feet. He had to have heard wrong. Or maybe it was just a mistake, loads of kids made these kind of mistakes. It was nothing to worry about.

But unfortunately, it was something to worry about as it didn't stop there.

In fact, it probably happened again at the worst time possible. Jaemin stood under a tree at his local park on a sunny Saturday morning as he waited on his date to bring back a coffee from the café. His smile lighted up his whole face as he stuffed his phone back into his pocket as he watched her approach him with his iced coffee in one of her hands. Yet just before he could open his mouth to greet her—

"Daddy!" an excited voice shouted from behind him causing his smile to drop immediately and his eyes to widen. No...No...NO!

He spun around at the speed of light before looking down at the little girl that barely reached the height of his hips

He spun around at the speed of light before looking down at the little girl that barely reached the height of his hips.

"Yurim...w-what are you—why—hi" he said with a wavering smile, not exactly knowing how to speak to a child from work when he wasn't exactly at work. In the real world, Na Jaemin was a grown ass man talking to a five year old and that was not a good sight. What's even worse than that?—making your date think you have a child.

"J-Jaemin I didn't know you...had a kid..." the girl trailed off with an awkward smile, acknowledging the little girl who stood proudly beside him. And unfortunately she did kind of look like him.

"I don't" Jaemin said quickly, snapping his head up to her and then awkwardly back down to Yurim

"Well...she is a kid...not exactly my kid" Jaemin said with an awkward chuckle. God could I be making this situation any worse he thought.

"She called you daddy" the girl said awkwardly and Jaemin groaned internally

"Well she is my kid—at this school I work at" he added in quickly, widening his eyes again at how mushy his brain had turned in a matter of seconds

"You should come say hi to mommy, she's over there" Yurim said with a smile, pointing over to a woman who was too busy with a phone call to probably even notice that her child had run off.

"Okay you know what...I think I know what this situation is" his date said from his side and Jaemin turned to her with confusion laced in his face

"You do?" He asked, because frankly even he didn't know the situation

"You're a horrible person to just lie and act like you don't have a whole ass child...I-I can't believe you're this...disgusting!" His date exclaimed and his jaw almost fell to the floor as he watched her turn on her heel and speed walk away from him

"What the fuck?!" He exclaimed in pure disbelief, momentarily forgetting about the innocent bundle of joy standing beside him. Yurim gasped at the sound of a curse leaving his mouth with no hesitation

"You said a bad word! I'm telling on you!" Yurim said, angrily stomping away to her mother with balled up fists and Jaemin dropped his shoulders with a perplexed expression. He turned to see the woman turn her head towards him, shooting him a slight apologetic glance with an awkward wave before holding the girl's hand and walking her away while she continued to glare at him.

Now this had to stop. This had officially gone too far.
