Months had passed and the Dumbledore family was slowly starting to feel more at home in the Godrick's Hollow. Kendra found herself an unofficial job of helping her neighbours. She was helping them with the most basic chores like collecting fruits in orchards, helping with grocery shopping and such. She often got pains in her joints and her back after doing such chores all day and then she still had work to do. She was comming back home where she had to cook dinner for her three children so they'd have something proper to eat for the next day when she'd be gone. Kendra also had to take care of a small garden where she had planted some vegetables, fruit bushes and tree seedlings. She got those as a gift from her neighbours as a way to reward her for her hard work aside from paying her money. They also wanted Kendra to have a better start at a new place. It always helped to be more independent and grow your own supplies instead of buying everything. Besides if Kendra was blessed with beautiful harvest, she could sell some of it on the local market and leave the rest at home for her own use. The woman noticed these possibilities too so she felt really thankful for this and she did everything to make a good use of the gifts she received.

She cared for the growing plants, bushes and trees despite comming home exhausted. Kendra asked her sons to go outside everyday around noon and water the plants in the garden, adding extra instructions such as not to pour water on the leaves and be careful not to step on any of the other plants and of course the main rule: Only one of the brothers goes outside while the other stays with Ariana indoors. It was always Albus who was  eager to go outside even though he, as the eldest of the siblings, was expected to take care of Aberforth and of course Ariana, guide them when it's needed despite his young age. The boy always insisted that his younger brother should stay with Ariana inside while he would go outside and take care of every thing, convincing that it's a really difficult job and Aberforth wouldn't be capable of doing it properly. Younger brother didn't want to disappoint his mother and have her fix his mistakes. She was tired enough whenever she came back home and she had enough of her own chores to do. Albus wasn't as worried. He was eager to go outside because it was his escape from sitting at home with his silent sister and annoying brother who was nagging him constantly to help with folding clothes, dusting off the windowsills and such. Albus felt sorry for his mother and he knew Aberforth wanted to help her that way but it was a torture to stay at home and do the same things everyday. He needed just a small break. To get away from the "boring" duties but also to get away from this awful feeling of being the one responsible for everything...It only reminded Albus of the absence of his father. Reading books or going outside, at least for a short while was like an escape from all of this. From all the expectations, monotonous chores and overwhelming, sad thoughts.

So Aberforth was usually busy with chores that needed to be done indoors while Albus took care of the plants outside and used this chance to have some time alone with one of his books, without listening to Aberforth's constant complaints and Ariana's gentle pleads of spending time with her. He'd do it later...Albus didn't seem to realise just how much his younger sister was looking up to him. She seeked his attention even though she did it very subtly especially now. After the incident in her family town Ariana became far more silent than before. She cut herself off from everyone else more often...choosing to drift off with her thoughts elsewhere and try to forget about things that bothered her...the lack of her beloved father, the powers that still showed up from time to time which didn't fill her with wonder and happiness anymore...those feelings were replaced by fear and denial. She didn't want this power. Whenever she accidentally made something levitate or caused any other happening that could be taken as out of ordinary Ariana wiggled her hands in the air quickly as if she was trying to get rid of last droplets of water after washing her hands. Nobody really paid much attention to this behaviour because everyone tried to deal with this new situation in their own way but each one was about cutting themselves off from this situation and focus on something else. Kendra was working, focusing on her goal to provide for her children and somehow build new relationships here in the new town so her family would be welcome in the neighbourhood. Aberforth tried his best to relieve his mother by taking care of things at home: washing the dishes, cleaning the floor, looking after Ariana. Meanwhile Albus seeked moments in which he could read something..anything really..a book..a news paper.
