Manan: Contract Marriage

Nandini's pov

Two years of marriage. We are nothing but a stranger living together in a house. Although it was contract marriage, but he never tried to give it a chance.

Today is our second anniversary our contract marrige will end today. I have a fear of loosing him, I don't want to lose him. I didn't even have idea when we got married.. I will very much attached to him. I will eventually fall in love.

Here I am today, hopelessly in love with. I fall in love due to his caring nature. No one ever has cared for me except my mother in whole life.

I am preparing my husband favourite breakfast today. Manik got down from the stair while arranging his shirt.

House helper starts helping me managing food in the dining table.

" So delicious.." Manik complemented while savouring the food.

" Madam has prepared the food, sir.." Sovita replied in response to Manik. The head of house helper. She is in her fifties. She was with Manik since childhood. Manik respect her so much.

" I am lucky to have you in my life, Nandini.." Manik words fluttered Nandini's heart. Nandini blushed listening his word but she was sad as Manik didn't even remember their anniversary.

" I will send you the location, Nandini. Be there on time, we are having dinner outside today.." Manik said before living. Nandini nodded her head in response.

She gets ready for office and went to office. Whole day she didn't see Manik in the office which was kind of unusual as Manik usually don't miss his office. If it's not important. Nothing is important today except their anniversary.

Is Manik by chance planning any kind of surprise for her..? Knowing Manik's nature it is not possible. Although he is caring but he is always distant from her. Now suddenly planning surprise for her seems meaningless to her. Moreever she doesn't want to rise her hope.

Then where is Manik? Was the question..? Did something happen to Grandma? She panicked. But if something has happened to Grandma, then Mrs Sovita will inform her thinking this she relaxed.

After office hours end, she went to her house.. Nandini takes a nap for sometime and starts getting ready while wearing saree. She wants to wear Mangalsutra and Sindoor. But she can't, if Media spot them together. It will create blunder as no one has knows about their marriage except for few people.

Nandini reach the destination in dot time. She went near the reception area and asked " Is there any reservation under Manik Maholtra.."

" Let me check Ma'am.." Receptionist said and starts checking and told her " Yes there is Ma'am.. Can you show me reservation card..? We can't let you in unless you show me your card. It's our company rule." Receptionist smiled.

" I don't have card it is with him.." Nandini smiles in response. She looks toward her watch and towards gate. It is already time then why Manik is not here.

" Then sorry for the inconvenience. I can't send you in ma'am. You can wait in the lobby.." Receptionist show her the way to the lobby which is not far from reception area.

Nandini starts waiting for Manik. It's already half and hour since she is waiting. But till now Manik didn't show up. She has called him but he is not replying to her call.

One hour passed away but still there is no sign of Manik. Slowly slowly her mood starts turning into sour. But still she manages to keep smile.

" Poor girl, she is waiting but still he didn't show up.." She heard receptionist talking to other girl.

" Indeed a poor girl, clearly he doesn't care, if he has care for her then he would show up. I don't why girl would stick to a person who doesn't care for her.. One should have a self respect, just look at her, some girls care about money.. maybe it is the case.." Other girl response hurt her. She knows they were talking about her.

She starts scrolling the Facebook pretending not to hear them. Headline caught her attention.

" Manik Maholtra spotted with a girl in a airport. According to the rumours it is Aliya Saxena his ex girlfriend. As girl's face is not clearly visible. Speculation has been made it is Aliya Saxena. Is love blooming again..? "

She fall down from her chair.. looking at the news. Receptionist comes near her.

" Ma'am, Are you okay..? " Receptionist asked. I nodded my head and get up with help of her. She helped me in picking up my phone. She hurted her hand.

" Thank you.." I left from there after thanking her. I called the driver who come to pick me up. Is this the end to their relationship..?
