Sometimes I have dark thoughts about my mother. the thoughts no sane daughter can have for her mother.
"y/n you are being ridiculous" I glared at my phone which was in speaker mode. I refused to argue with her any further. she always sighs loudly when I don't answer her. I wrinkle my nose. I hated she always called grandma dramatic, just look at her dramas. she judges a lot.
"y/n you can't live in that house, it's between the woods. just because your grandma gave the house to you that doesn't mean you are actually going to live in it. don't be stupid y/n." I rolled my eyes. "Just because you don't like it doesn't mean I am going sell it listen carefully that I will never leave that house" I said.
"y/n don't be stubborn" my mom said
I'm going end this conversation. like whom the fuck is being stubborn, she only wants to gain money by selling that house. I had a lot of memories in that house. I grew up with my grandma, grandpa and ghosts around me. I never understood the tensions between my mom and my grandma, but I think my mom didn't like my grandma's lifestyle the same was with me, I loved living between the woods and having peace all around, I loved nature.my grandma was a positive, funny and kind woman in my eyes. I spend all my childhood in there.
she started again "I just wish you had ambition in life instead of staying up in town you grew up in, sweetie. Do something more in your life than waste away in that house. I don't want you to become worthless like her."
I hit the call cut and threw it in the corner of my room, she's totally insane. Who the hell calls her mother worthless when she is the one who grew you up. This was the only reason I hated her so damn much.
I ripped the page from mom's book, I do it whenever I'm angry at her, it somehow gives me peace.
I was obsessed with that house. I am finally going in that house after a year of travelling the world around me.
Y/n's house:
I drove off to the house, I got off the car and took few steps back to get a better look of house. The stood tall, the tip of the black roof spearing through the gloomy clouds and looming over the vastly wooded area as if to say you shall fear me. Sometimes it feels like I am in a different planet, away from people.
AND I FUCKING LOVE THAT!!!
The house has begun to decay, but it can be fixed up to look like new again. I barged into the house, pushing the big wooden doors inside. it was dusty all around. the beautiful dark coloured house with the smell of dust all around and spiders too. Wind blew over flying curtains, it totally looked like a horror scene like you don't know from where the ghost will appear to scare you off.
I LOVE THAT!!!
I can't explain but I do.
Fuck what my mother says. I'm a successful writer and have the freedom to live anywhere. So, what if I decide to in the place which means a lot to me. I already travel enough with book tours and conferences. I know what the fuck I want and I don't give the shit what anyone else thinks.
ESPECIALLY MOMMY DEAREST.
I sigh. "Well, grandma I came back just like you wanted.
"Are you ready" my personal assistant asks from beside me. I glance over Suzy, noting how absently she's holding the mic to me. My eyes rove over the crowd, silently counting in my head. I lose count after thirty.
"yep" I say. I grab the mic, and after catching everyone's attention, the murmurs fade to silence.
"Before we start, I just wanted to take a quick second to thank you all for coming. I am so excited to meet you all" I am not natural when it comes to social interactions. the first reader approaches me, my book xxx in her hands with big smile on her freckled face.
"Oh my god! it's so awesome to meet you!" she exclaims, nearly throwing the book into my face. I forced my smile through my ears. I took the book. " It's so nice to meet you too." she left with a big smile.
As the next reader approaches me, pressure settles on my face. Someone is staring at me. But that's a fucking stupid thought because everyone is staring at me. I try to ignore it and gave the next reader a big ass smile. When I looked through the crowd, I saw a man leaning against the door at very back of bookstore, staring deep inside me, he was covered with all black and his hoodie's cap hiding his half face. he was having the perfect body......
Oh, fuck it Y/n!! it's just a normal man staring at you... before turning back to my reader I saw a grin on his face. The hair on back of my neck rise, and I feel the apples of my cheeks heating to a bright red. It's... it's unlike anything I've felt before. when I look back at the crowd, he was gone. I completed my signing event.
