On August 2024, World War III was taking a new turn since many neutral countries, minus Switzerland and Austria, had now taken the side of the United States in the World War III, realizing the US could be a reliable ally.
In the United States however, new demands for social justice, legal equality for all, regardless of gender, race, religion or political orientation were heard by the new government, who decided to definitely adopt them into the US Constitution. The new US Government and the new Congress also decided to put new and more inclusive reforms to improve the US society.
On the battlefield, such news provoked some morale boost but not much, since these US troops were only going back home when the American forces and their allies won the war with total victory over Russia, Iran and China.
Among the US forces tasked with invading Burma was US Marine Carly Wells and the 3rd Marine Division. Their task was very simple: take the beaches and open a foothold for allied forces to take over the fight before taking port facilities.
And Carly was now a battle-hardened US Marine, who had fought in several battles against North Korea and even took part in many landings in Sri Lanka, allowing the US to cut China's "Belt and Road Initiative". She also took part in the seizure of the Chinese base in Djibouti before taking part in the successful invasion of Eritrea since the 6th US Marine Division was busy fighting in Iran.
But for now Carly was sitting in a USMC ACV heading for the beaches of Burma. This landing operation involved American, British, Malaysian, Australian, New Zealand, Indonesian, Filipino and Indian military personel.
From inside the ACV, Carly and her fellow Marines knew they had to expect extremely heavy losses, even if the US Navy and the USAF were bombing military and strategic targets in Burma for over a week now. But being the battle-hardened US Marine she now was, Carly was part of the old breed while the raw recruits were derisively nicknamed the "Four months" due to their four months of training.
After a while swimming in the middle of the sea, the Marine ACVs hit the sand before lowering their ramp, prompting Carly and the other US Marines to rush outside of the ACVs to run for cover while being fired upon by machine gun fire. The American learned their lesson well since the ACVs fired their autocannon and machine gun above the US Marines' head to provide cover. Just as Carly and the others reached the edge of the Burmese trenchline, the ACVs ceased firing not to hit their allies.
As soon as firing stopped, the Burmese soldiers rushed in their trenches, only to be welcomed by small arms fire from Carly and her fellow Marines. Carly fired her M27 rifle at several Burmese soldiers, killing two of them, while her fellow US Marines shot several more dead. Carly then jumped in the trench before running to nearby barracks. The American gal then took her standalone Heckler & Koch M320 grenade launcher and loaded a High-Explosive Dual-Purpose 40mm grenade while the other Marines fired their M27s at incoming Burmese soldiers. Carly then shouldred her launcher before firing it at the barracks, destroying the building. Some of the other Marines also fired their grenade launchers, denying any possibility for the enemy to get reinforcements.
Suddenly, as Carly loaded another grenade in her launcher, she saw Burmese soldiers surrendering. She put the safety of her launcher on before taking her M27 rifle while the Marines searched the surrending Burmese. After Carly and the other Marines were sure these individuals weren't hiding explosives on them, they guided the prisoners to the beach where US Navy MAAs guarded them.
Carly then joined the other US Marines in the push for the port cities of Burma, which would guarantee the advance of the Allied troops for China.
Meanwhile in Iran, the 6th Marine Division, comprising Norrie Vastano, were involved in the fiercest urban fighting since Mariupol in Ukraine or Mossul in 2017. The US Marines were now tasked with taking Tehran alongside other Allied troops, making sure that the Iranian opposition would take the reigns, since the US Government had ordered the US Military to let the now-unified Iranian opposition take the political lead of Iran so that Iran could become a genuinely liberal democracy, thus allowing the Iranian to decide their own destiny.
