Note: if ur new, this is going to be a bit different since i kinda want to discontinue this already but felt bad, so if u think of this as a continuation from the chapter before, its... a bit incorrect, its like a closing in a way?
Apology chapter since i dipped for 3 yrs :v im so sorry. thank u for sticking w this fic even when my 2021 writing made me cringe so bad.
update: i dont swear anymore! being near babies and likes to swear does not mix, its very bad.
notice anything new w/ my writing skills? (i have no genuine idea if its better or worse. my english definitely did though, the title should use *happen* because its not past tense.
the ttm's change of personality is too sudden that it visibly made me cringe, so its a bit different. u can read this w/o reading the past chapters, im sure it'll make sense, bc i also didn't hehe.
ITS SO BAD!??!?!? HOW CAN U NOT CRINGE AT IT OK IM DONE.

There a quite a few things that Quake noticed ever since he came back. Solar likes to babble a lot and one of those things is that being able to predict something because it's a routine is a comfort for most people, and it's definitely something Quake has in common with most people nowadays. That's why, when his three troublemaking brothers start acting so very obviously off, he's been in this uncomfortable frenzy.
To be fair, those three had never been left alone, from childhood until it's broken a week ago when duty calls. Thinking the house will be burnt to crisp is a bit of an exaggeration, but the doubt is still real.
Honestly? Quake is also worried for them. Objectively speaking, they have no reason to know how to be responsible. Thunderstorm is always the protector of the house being the eldest. Quake stepped up to be one who's making sure everything in their home runs smoothly with the willingness of a loving brother. Ice is not exactly responsible, but his quietness is possibly the only reason why their neighbors hadn't filed for noise complaint, it affects people. While Solar is just too prideful to have fun, or at least that's what Blaze likes to say.
Quake personally thinks Solar acts like the youngest that he is in the subtlest ways possible, he's glad that Solar's loose enough to have fun though. Having a bit of mischief every once in a while is alright, everyone needs to have that satisfaction.
With the house running fine already, there didn't seem like a reason to start learning how to do so. Why bother learning how to cook when Quake is always there? Why bother learning how to wash clothes, fold them and do the laundry when Thunderstorm is already a doting brother that he's too embarrassed to admit? There just seem like there's no reason to do so.
Ice and Solar might have no clue as well, but at least they're mature enough to keep themselves alive. Cyclone, Blaze and Thorn though... Quake loves them, really, but sometimes they reminds him a bit too much of hyperactive toddlers. He's worried a lot. He swears he's going to have grey hair before he even have actual children, the thought is terrifying.
Or maybe actual hyperactive toddlers are more sensible than these three? Hm...
Anyway, that dynamic is definitely broken to pieces when they left for that week. Quake's been erratic thinking about what could happen that Thunderstorm needs to remind him to focus on what he's supposed to be doing.
It's a relief to know that he doesn't need to concern over, because his three brothers are all healthy and well.
Except... they're acting weird.
Thunderstorm , Ice and Solar had expressions in their faces that told Quake that they think exactly the same as that.
It's not like their personalities changed in a flash. No, no, they are still the brothers Quake remembers, stubborn, childish and all.
It feels like when a disaster happened and you didn't watch the news. It's everywhere, you can see it, but you don't know what the heck even happened.
Since when did Blaze suddenly knows how to cook? Cyclone can bake, but said skill only covers on making cookies. You can't exactly eat lunch with cookies. Quake did say that they left money for them to eat out, though when he checked, it's barely used for the minimum to what three boys should've ate for a week. It's like they used less than they should.
The fridge is stocked too... grocery? It's cheaper than eating out.
They did groceries?
On their own?
"???" He visibly recoils at the noise he just made unconsciously. How did he even--
Cyclone and Thorn too! Did they have a fight? Them? Visibly looking like the happiest duo ever stepped a foot on Earth? A fight? They kept sending these stares that Quake's pretty sure could be labelled as a glare whenever they feel like nobody would notice. Sorry to break it to them, but they're not exactly the subtlest. Blaze didn't seem surprised, so he knew of this?
Whenever asked, he just shrugs and says that he had no clue either. It just happened.
Quake is ever so confused, is this a bad thing? A good thing? He doesn't know, but it's definitely something.
Cyclone and Thorn wouldn't just fight because it happened, excuse me? Even Solar seemed dumfounded.
They changed for the... better? Worse? They changed, that's obvious, Quake's just not sure if it's going to shatter their already ruined family dynamic even more or not.
He mutters a gloomy thanks when his equally confused eldest brother passes him coffee.
Even Ice didn't seem like resting well these days..
What a disaster.
