Sonic oneshots

mother's day morning 💐

(Note: this takes place a couple of weeks-ish after the knuckles miniseries but before the third movie)

"Knuckles! Tails!" Sonic whispered.
"What is it hedgehog?" Knuckles asked.
"Yeah, Sonic what's going on?" Tails replied.
"It's Mother's Day!" He exclaimed.
"What's Mother's Day?" Tails questioned.
Sonic stood in shock and concern for a second, remembering that Tails was basically an orphan in-between finding Earth and becoming a Wachowski. "It's a day where you celebrate your mom!" He stated.
"Cool!" Tails murmured.
"Yes, it's been a while since I've celebrated something like Mother's Day!" Knuckles announced.
"What are the Echidna traditions for Mother's Day Knuckles?" Sonic asked.
"We have many different ones! but my favorite is collecting rock, sticks and other nature and shaping them into a heart for your mother and turning it into a small statue!" Knuckles exclaimed.
"That sounds like a lot of fun!" Tails replied.
"It was... and now the two of you can help me with it!" He stated.
"Yay! You too should go start working on that while I go get Doughnut Lord!" Sonic announced.
Sonic climbed down the ladder then quietly walked past Tom and Maddie's room and noticed that Tom and Ozzie left the bedroom already.
"Perfect!" He whispered.
He grabbed a chair and put it by the door with some rope so Maddie couldn't open the door until everyone's plans were ready and then Sonic quickly zipped down the stairs and walked to the kitchen,
He noticed Tom was cooking eggs.
"Hi, dad! I'm guessing your plan is breakfast in bed for mom?" He exclaimed.
"Yeah, where's Tails and Knuckles?" Tom asked.
"They're outside doing an Echidna tradition!" He replied.
"Oh, ok! You wanna help me with breakfast?" Tom questioned.
"Of course!" Sonic exclaimed.
"Can you make some toast and get a glass for orange juice?" Tom asked.
"Sure!" He replied.

~meanwhile~

Maddie got out of bed and turned on a lamp.
"Where's Tom?" She thought.
She picked some clothes and changed then went to open the door.
"What? It's locked... I guess I'll stay in here then." she mumbled then laid down on the bed.

"Are you sure this will be big enough for Maddie?" Tails questioned.
"Of course!" Knuckles shouted.
"Okay!" Tails replied.

"The eggs and bacon are almost done Sonic! Is everything else ready?" Tom asked.
"Yep! I even gave Ozzie some flowers to give her when we get upstairs!" Sonic explained.
"Good, since that's taken care of can you check if Tails and Knucks are ready?" He questioned.
"Yeah I can do that!" Sonic replied.
Sonic zipped to the backyard.
"You two ready?" He asked.
"Yes! We are!" Knuckles announced.
"Okay! Time for us to all go upstairs!" Sonic exclaimed.

The Wachowski brothers, their dad and dog went upstairs, Tails and Knuckles carrying the gift they made while Sonic helped Tom carry the tray with the food and juice. Ozzie was also there, carrying a bouquet that Tom had found the day before.
When they got up the stairs Sonic removed the chair and rope he had put there earlier.

"Okay Sonic, send Ozzie in!" Tom whispered.
Ozzie ran into Tom and Maddie's room holding the bouquet in his mouth, wagging his tail.
"Ozzie? What do you have?"Maddie asked.
"Awwww~ flowers!" She smiled.
The other four walked in.

"Happy Mother's Day!" The boys and Tom exclaimed and Ozzie barked with them.
"Me and dad made you food!" Sonic explained.
"And me and the fox decided to replicate an old echidna tradition!" Knuckles announced proudly while showing Maddie the statue that him and Tails made.

"Thanks boys!" Maddie said "Oh hold on, I'm gonna answer this really quick!" Maddie reached over to her nightstand to answer her phone and noticed who was calling.
"Wade?" She asked.
"Hi Maddie! I was wondering if once your Mother's Day plans are done if I could take Knuckles with me to visit my mom?" Wade questioned.
"Sure!" Maddie replied.

~ a while later ~

"Hi Knuckles!" Wade exclaimed.
"Hello Wade Whipple!" Knuckles greeted.
"You ready to visit my mom?" He questioned.
"Yes! I am!" Knuckles responded.
"Good!" Wade replied.
"Wade, please try to bring him home before midnight." Maddie stated
"Will do Maddie!" He announced.

Knuckles and Wade walked to his recently repaired car.
"So, you excited to see her again?"
"Yes! I have not seen your mother OR sister since the events that happened in Reno!" Knuckles replied.
"Heh... yeah!" Wade responded.
"Oh and I have grapes in the back if you want any!" He added.
"Hooray!!" Knuckles shouted while reaching for the bag of green grapes.

"And we're here!" Wade announced.
The Green Hills deputy and space echidna walked onto the porch. Wade knocked on the door. Wendy opened it.
"Hi Wade! How are you?" Wendy asked her son.
"Good, mom." Wade replied. Knuckles stood next to him.

"And you brought Knuckles!" Wendy exclaimed.
"Yeah! And this time I got permission from Maddie, his mom."
"Wonderful!" Wendy responded.
"Oh, that red alien's back! And you're here too Wade." Wanda muttered.
"Hi Wanda." Wade replied.

"Alien? I'm an Echidna, Miss Whipple." Knuckles exclaimed.
"Whatever. Point is, it's good to see you again Knuckles." Wanda responded.
"Happy Mother's Day mom!" Wade announced, ignoring Wanda's sassy remarks about Knuckles.

"I got you a bunch of flowers and a vase for them!" Wade explained.
"Thank you, Wade" Wendy replied. "And what did you get me Wanda?"
"Money to fully fix the kitchen." Wanda exclaimed. "and also to completely fix the hole in Wade's room." She muttered.
"Wonderful! Both of your gifts are lovely!"
