Third time is a charm, right?

Yes, we met a third time.

We actually met more than three times.

But that is a story for another time.

Right, the third time we met.

It was Wednesday.

You might be asking, how the hell do I know what day it was.

Let's just say that Liam was always on my mind, still is.

Right, Wednesday.

I didn't have classes on Wednesday.

That was one of the good things about college.

There were days that you didn't have classes.

Lou, one of my closest friends, asked me to stay with her daughter, Lux, for the day.

I accepted.

I didn't have anything planned for that day.

And me being me, I thought, why not take her to the park.

I kept telling myself that it was because I wanted Lux to have some fun when in reality I just wanted to see him.

Once in the park, Lux went to play with other kids while I sat on a bench.

Not just any bench.

The bench where we first met.

I waited and waited and waited.

And nothing.

He didn't come.

Sighing, I told Lux that it was time to go home.

I picked her up and started walking.

I bumped into someone.

Liam.

"We really need to stop meeting like this"

He laughed.

Oh! That precious laugh.

"We do,"

I told him, adjusting Lux on my hip.

"Is that your kid?" He asked pointing at Lux.

I noticed he had the cigarette in his mouth.

Puffs of smoke filling the air.

"What? No."

Looking back at it, it was actually hilarious.

At the moment, I took it as on offense.

I was only twenty, who did he think I was?

Not that having a child at the age of twenty was bad, it was just way too early.

"Oh, I just thought she was yours."

Liam spoke, scratching the back of his neck.

"She's my friend's. Say hi, Lux,"

I remember how Lux looked scared yet fascinated with Liam and his tattoos.

Liam was a different person when it came to children.

I just watched as he interacted with Lux.

He even stubbed out his cigarette to speak with her without getting smoke on her face.

He had the biggest smile on his face.

It was a beautiful sight.

He played with Lux, making her laugh.

I just watched.

Every little movement he made.

I saw.

I was obsessed with him, took me a while to admit it.

Then, the sad part came.

Lux and I had to go.

Liam kissed Lux's cheek.

Waved at me.

He walked away, lighting a cigarette.

I watched, as the smoke surrounded him.

Wondering where and when would we meet again.
