zayn woke up on the couch at his parents, waliyha sitting on the other end of the sectional flipping through channels quietly. he rubbed his eyes slightly and sat up. “you’re awake.” she smiled and pushed the throw blanket covering her lap to the side. “mum took niall to the park so you could sleep.”

“remind me to thank her for that.”

“need painkillers? you went a little overboard last night.” she smiled at her older brother and swiftly moved to the cabinet to grab a bottle of aspirin.

“that would be amazing.” zayn stood, took a minute to balance himself, and made his way over to his sister. she handed him a glass and the bottle. zayn downed a pill and chased it with water. he smiled when he heard a small hushed voice whining on the other side of the door as his mum’s keys jingled in the lock.

she opened the door and closed it behind her, niall shouting and reaching for his father, "abi!"

"niall!” zayn smiled and carefully pulled him from his mother’s grip. “i missed you! did you have fun with liam yesterday?” zayn brushed back the little boy’s hair and tucked it behind his ear. niall nodded.

"me and abi home?"

"we’re going home tonight, my love. right after we see pez! won’t that be fun? seeing miss pez?” zayn asked and niall nodded.

“ni have?” niall giggled softly and pointed at his jidda’s cookie jar. zayn rolled his eyes, grabbing a cookie from the jar and he gave it to him. “be careful. small bites.” he sat niall down and niall nodded, going off to the living room to watch his cartoons.

zayn sighed and looked at the time, the face of his watch was cracked but he couldn’t afford to have a new one shipped quite yet. “so you guys are heading home tonight?” trisha handed her son another glass of water.

“yeah, i think so. we may stay over again. depends on how i feel later… oh, wal? can you come over in the morning if we go home. i just need someone to keep an eye on him for a few hours.”

“yeah, of course.” waliyha nodded.

“cool.”

zayn carried niall up the two staircases to perrie’s apartment and he knocked on the door. niall chewing on a biscuit he and zayn had made together at jidda’s.

perrie moved off of the couch in her pjs and opened the door with a smile. niall squealing and reaching for her, “atch!” he giggled wanting to play with hatchi. zayn smiled and put him down so he could run in and play and he pulled perrie in for a hug.

“hey kid, how’ve you been?” she chuckled softly.

“good, good. been having a lot of issues with liam.” he stepped in and kicked his boots off next to the door,

“is that right? i thought you got rid of him years ago.” perrie got him a beer and sat down on the couch. zayn took it and sat next to her, listening to his son giggle and hatchi bark.

“i did, i did. i swore on everything he was gone when he left and that he was gone for good. but with my awful luck, i moved in right next to him and his boyfriend. they’re my neighbours.” zayn sighed and took a sip of his drink.

“tough luck.” perrie chuckled softly as sky placed her head on her lap. “i gotta get these little ones out to play. you wanna go for a walk?”

“yeah, sure. niall needs a coat.”

so zayn had sky’s leash wrapped around his wrist as he pushed niall in his stroller. perrie walking hatchi beside them. “so what are you going to do about this entire situation?”
