when zayn woke up niall wasn't in bed next to him but he could hear his laughter through the closed door. he smiled softly and closed his eyes again, maybe he could get a little more rest if perrie was keeping him occupied.

zayn had thoughts swirling in his head, how was he going to keep custody of niall when he can barely afford to find a lawyer? how is he even going to argue to a judge that he can provide for niall when he's living in the rattiest apartment building he'd found in town. zayn sighed and rolled over onto his stomach, pressing his face into the pillow. "abi?" he heard the door creak and niall bumping it with his little body.

zayn internally sighed, so much for more sleep.

"hi, baby." zayn rolled back over and sat up, rubbing his eyes. "is that for abi?" zayn smiled as he saw the plate the toddler was carrying. niall nodded, a grin on his face from ear to ear. "want abi to grab it?" zayn asked as he leaned over the side of the bed to grab the plate of eggs.

niall nodded and handed his abi the plate as perrie brought in zayn's orange juice and niall's apple juice. "abi! p!" niall pointed at perrie and smiled, grabbing his sippy cup. "help p!" he giggled, taking a drink from his cup as zayn began to eat his food. he smiled softly and held a forkful out to niall, who gladly ate it.

"it's delicious, baby. thank you so much." zayn smiled and pulled niall onto his lap. perrie smiled and excused herself to get ready for a lunch date she had.

"what do you wanna do today, bud?" zayn moved the plate to the bedside table and wrapped his arms around niall, leaning back against the headboard. he pressed a kiss on his head and smiled.

"go walk." niall nodded, taking another drink from his cup and zayn nodded.

"how about we go for a walk around the zoo? see all of the animals that you like." zayn suggested and brushed back niall's blonde hair.

"yay!" niall nodded excitedly, trying to wiggle his way out of zayn's grasp. zayn laughed and nodded, letting him up. he got up himself and pulled on the clothes he'd had stashed in perrie's guest closet from the last time he stayed. he got niall dressed in a t-shirt and shorts as it was hot out.

zayn picked niall up and settled him on his hip, pulling the door closed behind him. he smiled as he saw perrie, dressed in a little sundress with her hair all braided back. "you look nice."

"thank you." perrie smiled and kissed niall on the head. "are you guys heading out?"

"yeah, gonna have a niall and abi day." zayn smiled and grabbed his bag, sliding it onto his back. he was being very careful because of niall. "but you can text me after your date. i'll get back to you when we get home."

"okay, cool." perrie nodded, tying up a corset over her dress and sliding a hat onto her head. "don't be out too late, niall's been up for a while. he's gonna crash."

zayn had driven he and niall to the zoo, making sure he had all of niall's things packed in his diaper bag. he also made sure he had the stroller. he listened to niall chant about all the animals he'd see any moment now.

zayn pulled in, paid for parking and their tickets, and then pulled into a parking space. he smiled as niall squealed. zayn got out of his car and pulled niall out, "no want." niall whined as zayn began to pull out the stroller.

"are you gonna walk?" zayn asked and chuckled, pulling the diaper bag over his shoulder.

"yes! ni walk!" niall nodded as he clinged onto zayn's neck.

"sure you will." zayn chuckled and started walking towards the gates.

the two of them took their time, looking around at the animals and they even went into the petting zoo. zayn took a bunch of pictures of niall playing with a baby goat and he'd even fished a bit of cash from his wallet so niall could ride the ponies. "zayn?" zayn heard a low voice and he inwardly groaned, rolling his eyes.
