Marco x warrior titan shifter! reader

It was just a usual day at boot camp in the 104, until my eyes settled on a handsome freckled boy. I knew his name was Marco, and he was best friends with Jean, but since I was from Marley, I knew I wouldn't be able to befriend him, considering he was just another person from this devil island. But there was something about him that drew me in. Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts by Bertholdt. "Y-Y/N, why are you staring at Marco?" He asked me, worriedly. "Huh-oh, just that he caught my attention.." You replied, Reiner, Annie, and him looked at you, giving you that look. "Are you sure you don't like him?" Reiner asked, smirking. "N-no!" You yelled back, face flushed. "Y/N, you know you can't like him. Remember." Annie tells you, her face calm as ever. "Well you like Armin!!" You whisper-yelled. "True." She replies with. "How about we just try not to show our identity. Problem sovled. For now just let me do my thing." You say. "Fine. Just be careful." Reiner says.

-time skip; 3 days later-

Rest day. The best days at boot camp. I was hanging out with a girl named Sasha. I had honestly grown to like her. Suddenly, Marco came over to give Sasha some bread. He was about to leave, but then he locked eyes with you. "Hey Y/N! Uh-can you come with me for a second?" He gave one of his smiles you fell for every time. "Y-yea sure." You said and he took his hand in your, taking you somewhere else. You saw Reiner watching you.

Marco dragged you to a hill near the back of camp. It really was a really pretty place, considering we're in boot camp. "Y/N, I have something to confess." Marco tells you. "Ok, go on.." You say, confused. "I-I really like you, Y/N.. It's alright if you don't reciprocate these feelings." He says, his voice genuine. "I like you too, Marco." You say, a smile on your lips. But then you realize it. You're a Marleyian warrior, Y/N. You can't love him. At that thought you frown. "Hey, Y/N. You good?" Marco asks you worriedly. "Yea." You say, a shy smile on your lips. Marco hugged you tightly, his beautiful smile laying peacefully on his lips. Oh god, you couldn't take it. The thought of betraying him was horrifying. You didn't even want to imagine what would happen if you or one of the Marleyians had to kill him. "So..Y/N..Will you maybe be my girlfriend?" Marco asks you, his voice full of love. "Marco..I would love to..but I..can't. I've gotta go..I'll see you later..?" You ran off. Reiner had followed you and he was hiding in a bush. He yanked your wrist, pulling you into the bush with him. You embraced him in a hug, silently crying into his shoulder. You really loved Marco, but you couldn't afford to risk anything. You are a Marlyian after all. Reiner understood your pain. You wanted to settle down with Marco, even if he was one of the devils. He wasn't a devil in your eyes. You had fallen in love with him the moment you had met him. He is perfect. But, you had let him go.

-Time Skip-

It was the day of the attack on Trost. You were partnered up with Marco for fighting titans. His squad and your squad had both ended up dying. When you met up, you decided to work together. "Which route would be best to get to the breach?" You ask him. "Uh.. I guess we could try and make our way west to get there in a few minutes. Also, I know this isn't the time, but i wanna say this unless one of us ends up dying." He tells you. You give him a confused look, but nodd gesturing to go on. "I like you a lot, and I know i've already said this, but I really want to know why we can't be together. If it's because of different regiment choices, we can go long distance, or.." He trails off but you cut him off with a kiss. You caress his cheeks gently, molding both pairs of lips together in bliss, happy to spend this moment kissing him. You pull away, apologising multiple times. Now, he had cut you off with a warm hug. "I love you, Marco. Someday soon I will tell you why."

"Take off his ODM, Annie!" You heard someone shout from around the corner. When you turn the corner, you are tooken aback by it. Something you wish would never happen, was happening. "Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie!? What the hell are you doing?!" You yell, manuvering onto the rooftop. "Y/N.. I'm sorry. We have to kill him. He heard me and Bertholdt talking." Reiner tells you, apologetically. Your eyes go wide. "Y/N! Please help me!" Marco calls out to you.

"No.. Please..don't..you..c-can't..!" You stutter out. "Y/N, we can talk this out right? Right?!"
Y/N..Please don't leave me here to die!" Marco yells. Reiner stands infront of you. "Y/N, come on." Reiner says in a stern voice. You're too shocked to move. Frozen in place, unable to help your lover from death. Reiner throws you over his shoulder, manuvering to another rooftop. You have to stand there and watch as the love of your life gets devoured by a titan, not happening. Right as Marco got grabbed by the titan, something snapped. You rush over, but are too late. "Y/N..I-I .. love..you..."Marco says as you reach the titan.

Crunch...Tears...Blood. "NO..!"

You finish off the titan before it can get to you. You land on the ground and fall to your knees. You drop your weapons. "Why..*hiccup* why him." You whisper to yourself."I'm sorry Y/N. We can't afford having him letting our secret spill." Reiner tells you. "You..YOU MONSTER!!" You jump at Reiner, pinning him to the cold concrete. "YOU KILLED HIM!" You yell at him, voice laced with venom. Then, your rage took over. You punched him, hard. Bertholdt and Annie try prying you off him, but with no luck what so ever. Reiner finally regains his strength, pushing you off him and pinning you to the ground. You head hit first, causing an even more aching headache to arise from both pain and sadness. You felt the warm blood trickle down your head. "Y/N CALM DOWN!" Reiner trys telling you. "You know you couldn't be with him, remember. You told us you had let those feelings pass. It's not like you were in a realationship with him anyw-" "I WAS!!" You scream at him. "I loved him and you took that love and forced it away!" You say through tears. "Yea, I lied so you wouldn't know about it. I kissed him, and it felt amazing. Now I'll never get to ever feel those soft lips on mine again. Never get t-to count his beautiful freckles again. Never get to hear him talk again. I'll never get to see him again. And it's all because of you!" You say. Reiner gets off of you and you stand up. You make your way over to his corpse and peel off the 104th patch with the swords. "I-I love you too Marco. I'm so sorry it had to end this way." You say to Marco's body. You lean down and kiss his lips one more time. "G-good..bye..Y/N.."  You heard him whisper barely. "Goodbye Marco.." You say with a sad smile. You watch as he takes his final breath, leaving this world.
