Diana's POV

It was an eerily cold night, around 3 AM, I tried to walk with a quick pace using my knowledge and memory of this town that I had so I could find that gas station, I had a bad feeling walking around in the dark, I was terrified I’d be attacked again.

Surely the probability of that happening was low right?

But the thought of once again being torn apart, especially by wolves who turned into people, was absolutely nauseating, would that be considered cannibalism?

I shook my head trying not to think about it.

Wrapping my arms around myself I used one of my hands to gently feel over the bandages under my clothes, my back was still healing, I had a lot of stitches. Normally I wouldn’t let a patient leave with such a wound until a week later, it was a deep stab, certainly wouldn't heal quickly.

Lily said something about it being pure silver and that's why it wasn't healing right.

I still thought she sounded crazy.

I just tried to keep myself calm and level headed as I walked down the road, it was quiet at least, for a town full of people I didn’t see anyone tonight.

Then again these were ‘wolf’ people so maybe they behaved differently?

What am I thinking of course they do, they tried to eat me! They definitely didn’t act like people, at least not till Lily told them to leave me alone I guess?

I winced in pain as I attempted to sigh, breathing hurt because of my stitches. I really shouldn’t be moving around this much, but I couldn’t stay here.

It wasn’t safe for me.

I let my mind wander while I walked, but I had the bad feeling I was being followed, or something was going to happen, it had my heart racing and my senses going haywire again. I felt, no, needed to run, or I was never getting out of here alive, that’s the gut feeling I was getting.

I picked up the pace and started running, but the feeling didn’t go away, it only got worse.

I looked around and started to feel very scared again ‘please do that fast running again please’ I thought to myself in desperation.

The sound of snarling somewhere behind me seemed to kickstart that super speed and I started to race off down the road, I had never been grateful for the idea that super speed would save me, but I sure was grateful now!

My legs moved impossibly fast for someone who had just gotten out of the hospital from a nasty fall.

But something new seemed to be happening to me now, if that was even possible with how crazy things had gotten. In the moonlight I felt stronger, I felt more energised, but what surprised me was how my body seemed to turn transparent.

Like I was a ghost gone in a second.

I don't even know how I did it, maybe it was my desire to not be seen anymore or something like that.

I heard some more snarling but it at least stopped following me now, I had made it to the border of the town or pack in no time, I assumed they didn't want to leave their territory.

I was home free, I just needed to make it to that gas station!

I eventually slowed down when I saw how close I was, my strange abilities wearing off and I looked normal again, I was thankful for that.

I walked my way inside and immediately called a cab to come get me, as well as ordering a coffee.
