Chapter 7

             Atsushi slowly opens his eyes, "Where.... Where am I...?" Atsushi gripped his shoulder. "Y/n...?!" Atsushi quickly grabbed Y/n and gently shook her, "... Her skin feels hot.... She must have been in the sun for too long..." Y/n huffs a bit, reaching out to grab Atsushi's hand. Atsushi hugs Y/n, "I'm sorry.... I should have tried to protect you better.... I'm sorry Y/n.... This is all my fault..."

            Y/n hums softly, doing her best to comfort Atsushi. "Hmm... Hmm!" Atsushi hugs Y/n tightly, "I'm sorry Y/n.... I couldn't protect you or Kyoka...." Y/n attempts to stand, but falls due to her ankle. "Hmm..." Atsushi's eyes widened, "Y/n! How did this happen to your ankle...?" Y/n huffs, it will take some time, but she should be able to heal it........

ADA POV

            "Atsushi and Y/n were abducted." Kunikida pauses, "Now of all times...?" Tanazaki nods. "Yes..." Kunikida sighs, "The agency is already in an uproar due to the recent ministry staff escort job. We don't have enough hands on deck to look for them." Kunikida sighs, "Do we at least know their whereabouts?" Tanazaki pulls out a notepad, "Yes! Based on eyewitness statements, they were attacked on the street in broad daylight then shoved into the back of a truck. Their destination, however, remains unknown."

           "That's not good... They have many smuggling routes. Transporting two individuals without anyone laying eyes on them would be a piece of cake for them." Tanazaki grips his notepad, "We have to help them somehow, or they'll..." Ranpo huffs, "Help them? Why?" Ranpo licks his ice cream cone. "I can definitely understand why we should help Y/n, but Atsushi was abducted because he's the were tiger right? They obviously want him for the reward, Y/n was probably just unfortunate to be around him at the time they took him."

             "Plus, Atsushi didn't join us so we'd protect him." Tanazaki huffs, "Still! It's not like we're only talking about Atsushi! Y/n was taken as well!" Kunikida shakes his head, "No, Ranpo is right. We shouldn't be the ones to take action." Tanazaki's eyes widened, "Kunikida..." Ranpo leans back in his chair, "Has anyone thought of alerting the police?" Kunikida shakes his head, "Atsushi is wanted as a designated threat. That puts Y/n at risk as well. If his status with us becomes known, the agency will be the one to take a hit."

                "Umm.... It sounded like you wouldn't make a decision in a million years. If you kept going with the shoulds and coulds you all seem to love, so I called him!" Naomi proudly presents Fukuzawa. Everyone's eyes widened, "President?!" Kunikida walks closer and bows, "I am so sorry. As soon as our work is done, I'll gather information with Tanazaki and..." Fukuzawa lifted his head, "That won't be necessary. Listen up, all of you. Out newest members have been abducted. Everyone work on finding them. I order the current task is suspended until they are safely back with us."

            "Suspended? But there is an escort job..." Fukuzawa hums, "I'll contact the client. Don't worry, they owe me enough that I can afford to make a minor official wait." Ranpo huffs, "President, are you sure about this?" Kenji tilts his head, "About what, Ranpo?" Ranpo leans on his hand, "Well, if you think about the rationale behind it-" Fukuzawa holds up his hand. "Two of our own are in danger. We must help them. What greater rationale do we need in this world?" Ranpo huffs as he turns in his chair. Fukuzawa turns, "Kunikida." Kunikida nods, "Sir?" Fukuzawa turns to leave, "Bring them back to us in three hours." Everyone jumped up, "Yes sir!"

               Everyone runs around the office, "Find all the security footage from the city! From the last six hours!" Ranpo blinks, his mind still a bit groggy from being asleep. Ranpo huffs as he scans a newspaper, "No good.... There aren't any comic strips... Kenji! Could you see if there are any good homicide cases nearby?" Kenji smiles, "Sure! But President won't be happy with you later." Ranpo grimaces, "Nevermind then...." Ranpo slowly lays his head on his desk. Kunikida holds up a photo, "Good! A photo taken by a tourist who witnessed the abduction." Everyone analyzes the photo, "Can't you find trucks like that everywhere?" Kunikida nods, "Yes, plus the licence plates are fake..."

            "But, there are only a handful of places in Yokohama that can do this kind of vehicle work. After Kenji went around to all of the repair shops we could think of, they were more than happy to tell us more." Kenji nods, "The truck's owned by Karma Transit." Kunikida adjusts his glasses, "They're mules who started off in the smuggling business. So they can tell us where they were taken. They're the only ones outside of the Port Mafia who might know everything about the abduction. Tanazaki is on standby at the site, he can go in at anytime." Tanazaki nods "Understood, I can infiltrate the site." Tanazaki noticed that it was.... Too quiet. Tanazaki ran forward, opening the door to the building.

           "Crap! They were one step ahead of us, they're all dead!" Everyone went silent. "What does do now? Our one lead is dead." Yosano stares toward Fukuzawa. Fukuzawa stood up, walking towards Ranpo. "Ranpo, it's your turn." Ranpo sighs, "Do I have to?" Kunikida hums, "Ranpo, please, just this one time." Fukuzawa lifted his head, "Ranpo, if you're able to bring the two rookies back safe and sound..." Ranpo huffs, "Will I get a special bonus? A promotion? There's no need. After all..." Fukuzawa hums. "I'll give you praise."

             Ranpo shot up, "Well, if you're going that far, I guess I don't have a choice! All right! Ability: Ultra Deduction!" Ranpo pauses for a moment. "Hmm.... I see. They are located.... Here." Ranpo points on a map to specify where he meant. "The vessel is traveling 20 knots towards the open sea. They're alive.... For now." Everyone pauses, "The Sea...?" Fukuzawa hums, "They must be shipping them overseas, then." Kunikida lowers his head, "That's not good.... Once they're out of the country, we can't touch them." Fukuzawa throws a set of keys at Kunikida. "You these. It's for the Agency's high speed vessel docked at the port. Bring them back no matter what."

AN: I'm so sorry Chapter 7 took so long to come out! It's been a very busy school year, so there hasn't really been any time for me to write... I'm back now though! Hope you all enjoyed the chapter! Have a good night/day!
