Before the disappearance of the plane I was in everything felt perfect.
Twenty sophomore students from Riverbank High School were selected to take a trip from California to Europe and stay for a couple of weeks and explore.
The best part was that my best friends Jackie and Katie were coming so I wouldn't feel so awkward with the other students.
"Hold on guys." Katie said jumping in front of Jackie and I. She took out her Polaroid camera and asked someone if they could take the picture. They nodded and the three of us got close together and waited for the flash to go off.
As the photo came out of the top the man handed Katie back her Polaroid and she thanked him.
We laughed and ran to catch up with our group before Mrs. Evans would notice we were missing.
Before we got on the plane people were on the phone with their parents to reassure they were safe and were about to go on the plane.
"Don't worry about me." I told my mom, "I'll be fine...Mrs. Evans is responsible and so am I."
"I know...call me everyday you're there. No matter what."
"I will...love you."
"Love you too, I'll see you soon."
"Of course, bye." I hung up and soon we were all in the plane taking our seats. As the staff were explaining the rules I zoned off and looked out the window nervous about my first flight and trying to think about the things I'll do at Europe to distract myself.
After about twenty or thirty minutes the plane flew up and I took a deep breath. Jackie smiled at me and nodded in reassurance.
We were taking funny pictures of each other when after about two hours things went downhill.
