Chapter four(4)

My family members gawked at me as I got to the table.

"I sent Jones to call you down here over 30 minutes ago" Mum started, "are you not hungry? Something the matter?" she queried.

Dad just glared at me.

Lucas, Tracy and Nicole looked up from their food and then continued playing with it.

I have no answer, gawking back at them.
"There's nothing wrong with me" I said while maintaining my calm demeanor.

Dad stood up and threw his finger in my face " look young lady, this attitude of yours is something else. If you didn't want to eat, you could have said so".

"Why are you getting so bent out of shape about it?" I nonchalantly asked.

"Because I am your father! And I've been putting up with this freaking attitude of yours since you were fifteen. You're grounded! You can take your food upstairs if you're still hungry" he finished and left.

I, on the other hand, sat down, took my time to eat my food, went back upstairs and locked myself in. No one would bother me.

"10:27pm" said my watch.
I packed my things for school when Cribella showed up. "Hey,hey! How'd it go?" she asked. The smug frown on my face told her.

"Alright, I know it was somehow my fault you went down late but don't bother about it" she assured me, flying and picking some of my books.

"So about the mission thing— I spoke afterwards.
"We'll if you're okay now, we can start even though we know you don't have a choice"

"When?"

"Right now"

As she said that, she gleamed a shade of yellow and darted around my room like she went 60 kilometers per second. Her hair, eyes, tail, ears and clothes turned yellow too and before I knew it, she was coming towards me.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" I screamed, "watch where you're going— but I didn't finish because she darted right into me. All became black...

She woke up on the floor, feeling so tired. "As always" she mumbled. Lucy stood up to see how messed up she was with a glimpse at the mirror.

"Oh my gosh!" she screamed, looking at herself. In place of her short brown hair were blonde locks. She held her hair in surprise"what the?"

Her eyes from their black shade became an ambient shade of yellow and on her head were two furry cat ears.

"My gosh, my gosh, my gosh! What happened to me?! I look like a realistic— slightly cute version of an anime character. And my cat ears— wait there's even a tail?! Why me?!" she wailed and covered her face.

Her clothes had also changed from a casual shirt and little shorts to an auburn skirt top with a pair of long socks with little bows on the top of her thighs and ankles.

"Lucy! Are you alright? Why are you screaming?" Jones banged at the door.

"Everything's fine!" She yelled back.

'What will I do?' She thought 'um— I'll hide hide under my bed till it goes or.... I don't know'. "Cribella! Cribella!!" she shouted, "I want my normal clothes now!" she ran around looking for Cribella but she couldn't find her.

"That's it!" she cried out, jumping on her bed and sitting in a zen pose. "I'm calm, I'm calm" she recited.

As she opened her eyes, she was back to normal and Cribella was in front of her. Lucy clasped her in her hands while she smirked.

"What happened to me?!"
"Let me go and I'll explain" she replied and was let go.

"Now, I was assigned to you. You turned all yellow because of my energy flowing in you. Now we're linked cause I entered your body though there're a little side effects to magic"

She looked at Cribella in horror.

"Will I lose hair or more of the sanity I'm already losing?"

Cribella stared, perplexed.

"Are you okay Lucy? I'm your friend and if there's anything you wanna talk about let me know".

Lucy looked at her, her eyes still needing explanations. Suddenly, she felt a rush in her and her hair grew really long and went on her face. It was dark blue.

"Anyway", she continued "the side effects are: firstly, your hair length can increase and decrease at different intervals. Well, this is a disadvantage for you but your hair also changes color due to you emotions" she giggled.

Lucy stared on. Her hair turned light blue.

"You must be sad" Cribella wailed "what's wrong?"
"This is all too new. It may change everything. How will I learn all this? I'm 17, about to enter the university and start a new chapter in my life. How will I?" She said, while sobbing.

Cribella looked with sympathy and took her phone. She glowed white and the phone glowed as well.

"There" she said "everything you need to know is on your phone. Now I don't really need to explain much anymore" she smiled while Lucy took her phone. "Iscribel User Guide?" She asked. "Yep, everything's there.

Night had fallen long ago. "12:07" said the clock. Cribella flew around till she stopped at the cabinet, opened it and flew inside.

"How did you open it with your size?" Lucy asked astonished. "Ha, guess I'm small but mighty. Also I need a place to sleep"

A little blanket was brought and folded into two. Then Lucy got to her sewing things and made her a little pillow.

"Thanks" Cribella said "but it will need more flair. Adding that later". Lucy giggled as she flew in and laid down.

"We'll goodnight Lucy. I feel tomorrow will be the start of a new beginning for us" Cribella mumbled and closed the cabinet.

Lucy was left alone with her thoughts. Another headache.

"Oh Lord, please help me. If you do, I'll try to care more about others,okay......."
