JADE GILMORE'S POV

"So, your sister is leaving this Stars Hollow Hellhole?" Heather asked, leaning against the locker door. "Yeah, but she seems excited about it," I responded, shoveling my books into my purple backpack.

"Can you move?" I heard a voice ask. "Oh, sorry," Heather apologized as she moved away from the locker, showing a brunette boy wearing a leather jacket with floppy hair.

"Goddamn lock, you would think the locks here are easy to use," The boy grumbled, struggling to turn the lock.

"This is a public school. The locks are as old as the janitors here," I commented, zipping up my backpack.

"I haven't seen you around before," Heather stated. "Oh, I just moved here, I'm from Chicago," The boy responded.

"Oh, what's your name?" I asked, sliding my heavy backpack on my shoulder. "Dean," Dean answered, introducing himself.

"Like James Dean kind of Dean?" I asked, fixing my hair against the mirror in my locker. "Yeah, except I don't have a James Dean daydream look in my eyes," Dean chuckled. "Ah, a Taylor Swift reference, classic," I returned the chuckle.
