The Cheetah Girls stand in the mirror in all kinds of gangster, 'hard' poses, to go along with the Y2K theme, Desiree planned for us to wear out tonight. I fix my baggy jorts and my red letter man jacket and have everyone pose in the mirror as I take the pictures. Then take pictures for everyone individually for Instagram posts.

This is our first time going out as a full group, as the Cheetah Girls, now that Diego is finally home and we had to take him out for some fun.

"Okay ready?" I ask the group as I put my phone in my back pocket.

"Of course!!" Desiree shrieks. Diego rolls his eyes at her knowing she is probably already tipsy.

Serenity laughs at Desiree and her brother's reaction to her; the noise of Desiree's squeals and Serenity's laugh interrupted by my mom, clearing her throat. The girls stop and look at my mom.

Diego groans a little, causing me to laugh under my breath. "Hmm Ms.Nicole please..we know."

"You sure?" She raises her brow, snapping at Diego's attitude. "Lemme hear y'all say it."

"Ma, we're too grown for this now." I sigh, running my hair down my face.

"If that was the case, y'all wouldn't be in my house, getting ready." She crosses her arms over her chest and tilts her head at us.

"We had to come back for the memories, Nikki." Serenity says, reminding my mom of when we would all get ready at my house; my mom taking millions of pictures of us before we would leave, a smile formed on my mom's lips.

"Y'all are wasting time arguing with me." My mom smart-mouths, quickly remembering what her goal was.

We all let out heavy sighs and quote my mom in unison. "Use your eyes and ears before your mouth and hands."

A snicker escaped my mom's lips as she watched us, all grown up, reciting her rules like little kids at bootcamp.

"And?" She waited for us to continue.

"Don't add or take away..."

"Especially no taking away." My mom stressed, adding her side notes.

"...from the population and don't get arrested." Our monotone voices harmonize together as we continue into the part my mom added when we were all about sixteen.

My mom smiles at us, as we stare back at her with blank faces, clearly not happy with her forceful ways but as much as we tried to hide them, my mom could see the smiles forming at the corner of our lips and laughing under her breath at the fact.

"See, how easy was that? Now you all may go."

My mom walks over to us and hugs us and kisses our cheeks, then steps back from us and walks to the door and opens it.

"Bye mama nikki!" Serenity smiles, walking out first, hugging my mom one last time.

"See you soon, momma." Desiree's bubbly voice, high pitch and cheery as it usually is.

"Good seeing you again Ms.Nicole." Diego's voice, soft and calm, the complete opposite from his sister.

"You too, diego." She smiles sweetly, reaching up her hand to cup the boy's cheek before he leaves.

"Alright, bye ma, I love you." I smile, hugging my mom tightly then pulling away.

"I love you too, take care of my babies okay?" She coos, pinching my cheek.
