"Alright students, settle down it's time for devotion"
I tried to keep my cool, trying to to quiet down my 10th grade students.
Glad me nuh breed enuh Pull and pray!
As the noise dialed down, Aaliyah and Jarissa walked in the classroom. Late as usual.
"Good morning girls, late again?"
"Miss anuh our fault, we bus driver come late and-"
"It doesn't matter" I said cutting off Aaliyah. "Take your seat, and I'll need to speak to this driver because you've been consistently late with the same excuse"
They nodded their heads moving to their seats.
"Let us sing two prayer choruses and pray and then you may continue with whatever you were doing"
They complied and we had a surprisingly good devotion, without chatter and with full participation.
8:30am
"Alright, move to your classes now, have a good day"
"Thank you and same to you miss" they all said waving me goodbye as they headed to their first class.
I'm currently working as a practice teacher at Glenmuir High school, and honestly it hasn't been that bad. I've been doing really good and they've given my my own form class, not sure why grade 10 but they said I was ready and it could really go a long way when applying for and actual job. Maybe I'll apply here.
I checked my phone looking at my timetable for the day. One class, with my form students third period.
I called my boyfriend, Jason to come pick me up.
Really nuh wah stay here if I don't have to.
I spoke to my H.O.D informing her I had some business to take care of in May pen. She nodded giving me the go ahead and I left feeling cheerful.
Surprised she seh yes. If only she knew I'm the business about to be dealt with.
I sat at my desk going over the days lesson, when I got a text from Jason.
