Andrew was sitting in the hallway of the hospital, shaking his leg and sobbed in his hands while Evan tried his best to calm his charge down. The Whitelighter had taken them to the hospital, but orbed in an appropriate place where they of course wouldn't be exposed. He knew he wouldn't be able to heal any internal injuries, so whether anyone liked it or not, the hospital had to do. Both Andrew and Evan had already spoken to the police, coming up with a story that Chris was mugged. Thankfully Luna was there to make sure everything sounded as normal as it could, as morbid as it sounded.
“Andrew, hey, it's going to be okay. Chris will be fine…” Evan did his best, and Andrew ended up leaning into Evan's shoulder, who let the boy cry.
Jacob was the first to arrive at the hospital and was demanding to know what the hell was going on and what the doctors were doing. It had gotten bad so Evan had to grab hold of the boy and drag him towards the chairs, telling him that it was better for Chris for Jacob not to cause any trouble. The boy shook Evan off of him and placed his hands on his head while he waited for the doctors to finish.
Derek had gotten the call immediately and he and Roland rushed to the hospital, with Kyra right behind them. When Andrew saw them, he started apologizing while also hyperventilating. The three adults hugged him and they took turns telling Andrew it wasn't his fault.
The doctor and nurses walked out of Chris's room and the doctor taking care of the boy walked up to Derek, “Mr. Halliwell, we have your son under stable condition. Whomever attacked him did quite the number on him… broken ribs, heavy bruising, minor concussion…”
While the doctor continued, Andrew, upon hearing the extent of his brother's injuries, went back to crying but this time while wrapped around Kyra while Jacob started mumbling obscene language but was kicked lightly by Evan. Jacob glared at the whitelighter and asked if they could go in and see Chris.
The doctor looked at Jacob, shaking his head. “We can't allow that right now,” he replied causing Jacob to almost pounce the doctor, but Evan did his best to keep the boy back, “We'll have him under close observation throughout the night,” the doctor looked at Chris's chart, “we have tried reaching your husband, Mr. Halliwell, but we've gotten no responses.”
Derek was about to speak up, but Roland cleared his throat and looked at the doctor, “You can call me when there are updates.” He pulled the doctor to the side while Derek was controlling his breathing. He turned to Andrew and gently pulled him into a hug, telling his son everything was going to be alright and that it wasn't his fault.
Kyra looked from Derek to Roland, but didn't make any comments. Right now, her main concern was Chris and his health. They heard running footsteps behind them and saw Tyler looking extremely worried. “Chris, is he… is he going to be alright?”
The doctor thanked Roland and walked back into Chris's hospital room while Derek was telling Tyler that his brother was going to be fine. Andrew had sat back down but was still crying. “What the fuck happened?” Tyler asked harshly, “Was it a demon?” He asked quietly so only they could hear him.
“It was him.” Andrew said, causing everyone to look at him.
“Who's him, baby?” Kyra was asking while Roland sat down next to Andrew and pulled him in for a hug.
“The demon who's picture we saw at the meeting.” Andrew said while wiping away tears.
Derek growled while Tyler looked down at the ground angrily. Now that the demon had attacked, everything became more real. The Skythorn excused himself to make a call but looked at Roland asking him to stay as close to Chris's room as possible. He also looked at Kyra, nodding, who did the same. “We’re not going anywhere, Derek, don't worry.”
