Andrew had been hard at work trying to come up with the right mixture for the vanquishing potion. While he knew they still needed Athulaks flesh, Andrew knew that if he turned the potion into the right color, he was on the right path. He'd already gone ahead and made other various potions he and his brothers could have on hand just in case they needed them. Evan orbed into the apartment Andrew had been utilizing and took the time to look around. “Now this is what you call a penthouse.”
Andrew smiled and greeted Evan, but went right back to work. The whitelighter looked at what Andrew was doing before sitting down on a chair. “How long have you been working on that?”
“Mm,” Andrew had a little book he was using to add different notes to the potion he'd been trying to concoct. He made a little note before looking up at Evan, “A couple hours. I figured I'd get ahead while there's time before having to deal with the bigger problem.”
“Athulak's flesh?” Evan asked which Andrew simply nodded. He encouraged the witch to maybe take a break, but Andrew wouldn't budge. The witch was determined to get the potion right today so all they had to do later was worry about the final ingredient. “Hey, I get it, alright? You want to make sure you make the potion correctly, but you really look like you could use a nap.”
Andrew stopped what he was doing and looked up at Evan again. He knew Evan meant well, but right now he wished he'd shut up. Eventually Evan caught on, raising his hand in surrender. “Fine, but at least let me help.” He got up from the chair and walked over to Andrew's side who was working on experimenting with different ingredients.
“Hand me the toadflax.” Andrew ordered and missed the smirk coming from Evan. He took the ingredient from Evan's hand and added it to the potion, giving it a stir. Lastly, he added the pig's foot which resulted in a nice flame. “Alright, with any luck it's finished. Now we just need to get the flesh.”
Andrew started to hurry off but Evan took his arm, “Whoa whoa, you're not going to go after him now, are you?”
“Uh, yeah,” Andrew yanked his arm away from Evan, “that is the plan.”
Evan crossed his arms and stood in Andrew's way, “You're not going anywhere.”
Andrew scoffed and tried to walk past Evan, but the whitelighter pushed him back. “Fine, I'll just orb his location, it's fine.”
“I'll just orb you right back here.” Evan replied, causing Andrew to growl in anger. “You can hate me all you want, you're not going by yourself.”
“Then come with me.” Andrew said as he tried to get past Evan a second time, but once again the whitelighter pushed him back. “I'm getting sick and tired of you trying to stop me!”
Evan laughed and rolled his eyes, “Yeah and I'm getting sick and tired of you trying to get yourself killed.” He watched as Andrew sneered and leaned against the table, but Evan didn't care. “I saw how bad Chris was hurt, Andrew. He almost died that night! I don't want the same to happen to you.”
Andrew huffed in anger but eventually was able to listen to reason. He looked at Evan, nodding, and promised he wouldn't do anything without someone's help. “I'm sorry, I just… I just want this demon killed.”
“He will be,” Evan said, placing his hand on Andrew's shoulder, “after you develop a full proof plan to attack him and get the flesh you need.” Evan waited til Andrew nodded and then told him he'd go to the Elders to see if there's any updates.
