I've been seeing the critters for 3 weeks and my deadline is halfway there. I need to make my move. I only gain Dogday's, Bobby's, and Crafty's trust but the rest are still suspicious of me. They keep asking me where do I live before I went to college. I always said "don't worry about it." In case they dare to follow me, I either told them to back off or walk in different routes until they gave up.

One day, Dogday asked if I could meet his family. I met his friends but his family? I'm pretty sure they hate cats. As we say goodbye to the others, we head off to Dogday's home. Sorta like a suburban house. And there is a lot of toys scattered. We step inside and I hear puppies playing.

"Big brother!" One of them yelled.

☀"Hey Sunny! Skye! Summer! June! Celeste! And Star!" All the puppies came up to Dogday.

"Big brother who's that?" June asked.

☀"That's Catnap. A friend of mine."

My heart drop when he call me a friend. The puppies sniff me and dogpile on me and licking me.

🌙"Guys c'mon! That tickles!"

"Welcome home Day!" That must be his mom.

☀"Hey mom. I hope you and dad don't mind but I brought a friend and he's a cat."

His mom take a look at me. She then sniff me.

"Smell like lavender but a hint of smoke."

☀"Smoke? Pretty sure he mostly smell like lavender."

"Alright then. You boys better not be smoking that new drug called 'Red Smoke.' I heard it's addictive and damage your lungs like all cigarettes and vapes."

☀"My dad is not here yet so make yourself comfortable and I'll get us some soda and chips. We could play a game if you want."

Dogday left and I am waiting on the sofa. I check my calendar that my pay is at June 1st. It's two days before graduation and the same date as the graduation party. I still have time. Just then my tail is played with by a puppy.

🌙"Hey there." I swayed my tail.

That must be Star, the youngest of the family. She laughed happily playing with my tail. She does look cute having one ear darker and the other light like her fur. I curl my tail around her and she snuggle in. I smiled as if I'm caring a little star.

☀"Aw! I knew she likes you."

Dogday came in with snacks.

☀"Wanna play Mario Wii? Only you and me?"

🌙"Sure thing."

He gave me the controller as we play the game until we went to the third world. We were so busy playing that I didn't know his dad came home.

"Son, who's is this?"

☀"Ah dad! You scared me. This is Catnap. My friend."

His dad sniff me but growls slightly when he must've picked up a scent of red smoke.

"Have you been smoking?"

🌙"No sir. Just a little accident last week. With the fire. And all is ok." I wink at Dogday. He smiled back.

"I smell Red Smoke. Are you sure you can trust him?"

☀"Yes dad! I'm positive!"

"Better use your nose. They tell you something is wrong."

☀"Yes dad."

🌙"Why use your nose?"

☀"Dogs have a great sense of smell. Not only we have great hearing. Scents can also tell us something is wrong like the smell of blood or fire."

🌙"Can you smell me? Tell me if I can't be trusted."

Dogday took a whiff of me. He sniff my neck which makes me ticklish. Now he sniff my head, chest, and wrists.

☀"I guess mom is right. There is smoke. Do you smoke?"

🌙"Only if I'm stressed. Or depressed."

☀"I know college can be hard but there's no reason for you to smoke."

🌙"How would you feel if I do drugs?"

☀"I dunno. Either I should help them or leave them be. Drugs can change a person. Even completely which lead to their deaths."

🌙"And what about Red Smoke?"

☀"That stuff is really dangerous like Krokodil; (This drug really damage your skin. DON'T LOOK IT UP IF YOU'RE SENSITIVE). It damage your lungs and muscles but I don't know how to explain it. There are photos of people before and after using Red Smoke. Most of them died to it."

Dogday show me photos of people before and after the use of Red Smoke. The after images shows how skinny they are. Like you really can see their ribs and spines. They also have pale faces and bloodshot eyes along with rotten teeth. There's also info that Red Smoke is now the 3rd leading drug that cause most deaths right now.

🌙"How horrible."

☀"Worst of all, most of them are too young like at the ages of 20 to 30 because they believe Red Smoke is like vape. Promise me one thing Catnap."

🌙"Yes puppy?"

☀"Don't EVER do drugs. Especially Red Smoke. Please promise me."

🌙"I promise. Cross my heart."~

Dogday smiled. Cutest smile I ever seen. We continue our night with his siblings playing with me, his mother cooking dinner and invite me to eat until it's bedtime. Dogday told me if I could stay for the night. I have to say yes because I couldn't say no to his puppy eyes. So cute!

Wait a minute. Why do I like him too much? Is it because he's nice to me? Is it that he cares for me like no one else would? Is it that he treats me like a real friend? It feels warm and cozy like a plain of grass under the sun.

"Kitty's red!" Celeste called out. The puppies laughed.

☀"Guys knock it off! Bedtime!"

"Aww!" The puppies went to bed.

☀"Celeste is kinda right. You are red there."

Looks like I am blushing. Dogday bring me to his room. It has a computer desk that I assume he play games, pictures of his family hung on the walls, and a bed beside the window with orange and yellow blanket. I wish I have that room when I live with my parents if they are alive.....

☀"Sorry if we don't have sleeping bags. Hope you don't mind sleeping with me on my bed."

🌙"Uh sure! I would love too! I mean cool. Fine."

Dogday went to tell his parents if it ok if I could stay for the night. I look around his room until I see his shirt. The same shirt he wore today. Maybe a quick sniff? So I did. It smells like him. I keep smelling his shirt until the door open....

☀"Catnap?"

I quickly drop the shirt acting like I never seen it.

☀"I'm not gonna ask. Anyway you could borrow my pajamas and one more thing. Do you shower?"

🌙"Not since last week to be honest."

☀"What!? We need to get you clean. Come on."

Dogday take me to the bathroom. He brought me his pajamas.

☀"I'll be waiting for you kitty!"

I blushed when he said that. Looks like I'll have my best bath in ever. I have to lick myself to keep clean. I hope the water doesn't hurt me....
