🌙 False friend

I follow the group to a restaurant as they order burgers and fries. The pig order a huge burger that looks like it'll cause a heart attack. They were chatting and laughing which makes me jealous. I never had friends back at the orphanage. They would call me skinny kitty or lonely bones. They're the reason I ran away from the orphanage. I instantly hide when they exit the fast food restaurant. They are now heading to a clothe store. Possibly girl stuff.

I head in to see the dog, elephant, and chicken talking while the girls were trying on clothes. As the dog said he'll look for clothes his size, this is my chance to befriend him. The dog was looking at patterned collars.

☀"Hmm. Which one would suit me?"

🌙"I think the warm colors would suit you. Considering they have the same colors as you."

☀"Maybe. Hey I know you. You're that cat back in college."

🌙"Yep. I just wanna say I'm sorry for pushing you out of my way. I'm Catnap." I lend out a hand.

☀"Dogday." He shook mine.

🌙"Your paw is really pink."

☀"Yours too." He looked at mine until he notice my scars. I quickly swipe it away.

🌙"Sorry. I wasn't a social person."

☀"Aw it's ok. What class you have? I haven't seen you anywhere in college."

🌙"I go to a private school. Far from here." I lied.

☀"Oh. What do you do in private school?"

🌙"Pretty much like when you go home and have your own room."

☀"Nice. My home is close to college. Some of my friends live in college dorms. Speaking of, I would like for you to see them! Come!" Dogday pull my hand and bring me to the changing room.

☀"Hey guys!"

⭐"Hey Dogday! Check out Crafty. Love that skirt."

⚡"Who's the cat?"

☀"This is Catnap. He's from uh hey I didn't quite catch the name of your school."

🌙"Uh Crittersville private college?" The group stay quiet.

💡"Isn't that like located in the other side of town?"

🌙"Yeah! Yeah."

❤"Then what are you doing here?"

🌙"I just want to check out new things."

❤"Seems fair. Heard they have the bad side of town."

🌈"What do you mean Bobby?"

❤"That bad place has gangsters, prostitutes, and drug dealers. One of the dealer are so cruel, I heard they feed their victims to their dogs."

I feel anxious when she mention my dealer. I really need the money.

☀"Ha crazy story! Haha! Anyways Catnap, we were gonna have a  party at Kickin's house. We are celebrating for our graduation coming next month. Are you graduating?"

🌙"Of course! I past the exam!"

☀"Great! How about you talk about yourself instead of school? It's best to know someone deep down than just what they look like."

"Perfect timing!"

We get out of the clothe store and head down to get bubble tea. I never have any so Dogday buy me the purple one which is Taro flavor. I taste it and immediately loves it. Dogday chuckled at my reaction. We sat down as everyone is waiting for my answer.

☀"So Catnap. Tell us about yourself."

🌙"Ok. I am studying to be a lawyer. My parents gave up all their money for me to go to college. A few days after orientation, my parents died in a car accident. I'm trying to make more money to keep their house so I have to work and study at the same time. I'm really devastated and stressed ever since. Becoming a lawyer is not easy." Everyone look at me in sympathy.

🌈"I'm sorry about your parents. They really sacrificed so much."

When she said that sentence, my trauma came back. My mom told me to stay in the closet. She kiss me saying she and dad will always be with me. They sacrificed themselves to let me live. Such parental love. I keep hearing my name when I snap back to reality seeing them all look confused.

🌙"What?"

⭐"Are you ok? You stay quiet for 3 minutes."

🌙"I'm fine. Just revisit some memories about my parents."

🌈"They must be caring. Now I wish I would've meet them."

🌙"I wish so."

After we finish our drink, the day is almost over as everyone say goodbye. Now it's only me and Dogday.

☀"You want me to walk you home?"

🌙"No thanks. I know my way."

☀"All right. Be careful out there!"

I waved Dogday goodbye and take a street where he wouldn't notice I would take the bad road which lead to the bad side of town. When he left, I walk down the bad road and walk past hookers, gangsters, and hobos. I was about to take a left until a drunk man grab my ass.

"Hey baby. Let's have fun."

His breath reeks as I punch him in the face and ran off. I made it back home as I took off all my clothes and went to sleep. I try to sleep but the orange dog keep popping up in my head. His voice sound cheerful and he smell like vanilla. I smell like shit.

I try to sleep but as usual, gunshots are heard. Look like a turf war is going on. Let me sleep damn it!
